First one. I REALLY want to be mangaka. Just need to find an artist...

same here. Coming up with stories and writing is easy for me, but I'm pretty much worthless when it comes to art.

Based on this poll, it's just a hobby like any other to me. I enjoy more complex ones, but it's not like I don't do plenty of other things in reality as well. It's not as though I read manga constantly, but I do a fair amount. So perhaps it's between the serious otaku and just a hobby level.
Just for reference, I believe there are a few mangaka that write the story and have separate artists work for them instead. To-Love-Ru and Getbackers are both examples of that, I think.
No offense to anyone intended (I don't actually know the level of skill of the people this message is intended for), but thinking you know how to write and actually knowing how to write well are two utterly different things. If you actually can- more power to you, write some awesome stories, but simply believing you can at a professional level leads to wasting time writing unpublishable work (although arguably that's practice anyway). Sorry, a lot of the members of my extended family are professional writers of some sort, and it annoys me when people think that writing any type of story (manga, novel, screenplay, whatever) is easier than it actually is.

Oh I know its a pain, but I still enjoy it. Writing is never as easy as putting words on paper. You have to have a strong story, characters that are all different with a distict personality, a unique approach to any common idea, etc.
The biggest problems I find in writing is fillers, repeating scenarios, and in some cases trying to get my point across through dialogue. I don't want to sound full of myself but I know I'm a good writer.
However, recently I've started to lose interest in novel writing. I want illistrations to go along with the stories I write. To many times I've tried to come up with something complex and have failed to describe it clearly, where as a picture could easily show what I'm talking about.

Well, I guess I read it ALL the time. ALL the time is defined as at least two hours every day. At least, it is in my book.
But truthfully, I don't like manga all that much. True, there are a few great ones, but most of them I just read cuz' I'm bored.
So its a mixture of Serious Otaku and Just because I'm bored, for me.

Just a hobby for me right now. I draw my own characters for fun though I don't think I want to be a mangaka.
not really interested becoming mangaka, but I read manga everyday XD.

When I was young and naiive, I really, really wanted to be a mangaka. A few years later, manga turned out to be just a hobby for me. Now...I only read it when I'm bored. XD (though I still translate everyday)
