I'm looking for good series where the main character pretends or looks like they're weak/dumb but is actually really strong or smart. Basically, mangas where the main character is underestimated severely.

Examples:

  1. Gokusen- Teacher pretends to be weak, but is actually the ojou of a yakuza syndicate.
  2. Shibatora - Policeman who looks like he's in middle school but is actually a 4th dan in kendo
  3. Onepunch-man - "Hero" who looks like he's weak.
  4. Rurouni Kenshin
  5. Black Cat

Looking forward to the suggestions! Thanks!

Black Haze - MC is actually a famous magician. Pretends to be a sickly student at a magic school. (When I say pretend, it's more like bold-faced lying, lol.)

Warau Kanoko-sama & sequel Koi Dano Ai Dano- Applies more to sequel, but character gives off the impression of incredibly average and dull student, but she's actually a schemer. (In the sequel, it's common for people to think her friend does everything, but in actually, they were her plans.)

Seconding...

Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei I prefer the light novel though, this one Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (Novel), The MC here is hiding his real power with a proper reason and you'll see a LOT of discrimination towards him here.

Gun x Clover He pretends to look weak and useless when he's actually one of the strongest.

Black Haze Hiding his identity as a newbie magician. You'll get some discrimination too like in Mahouka

I third Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei.
And Black haze is even better though not AS bad when it comes to discrimination against the MAIN character...

Aww, you've read Rurouni Kenshin alread ;(. Okay, then, a common one that many people recommend for RK fans is Samurai Deeper Kyo. I've tried it and it's pretty good, but it's up to your tastes. 🙂
