i doubt they'll start bringing romeo along. Look at him. he cant even defeat the bandits that natsu took out with a kick!. And look at his magic, looks flame based. Dont need another flame mage in the team 😮
ah but his flame magic might be used like a power source for Natsu, when he runs low on magic just eat Romeo's fire or something 🙂
I so agree!!!! It would probably be very awesome if Romeo can summon a pure/strong flame or something and Natsu could use it to go into Dragon Force Mode (uhhh.... was that the name?) anytime.

I'm realy disapointed i was looking forward to new stile haircuts and powers...
but it seems they just sleept for 7 years -.-
guess now that the main characters are back all the other fairytail mages will come back as well...
well since geard lifed through those 7 years and the time stopped for elsa it could be intressting to see how their relationchip develops cuz it is obvious that she loves him isnt it...
and it is kinda weird if cana was to meet a guy now he would be 7 years younger than her...
still i'm exited to see how the world changed in these 7 years....

theres def character development. In shape of adapting to society. 🙂
Look forward to it. I know i sound like a fan boy but somehow i'm not too repulse by this surprise. Or maybe because i was thinking of something very negative like spending hundred of chapters to bring back all the old crew. (crew gets separated and they slowly find them and get them to join back plot) .
this is what I was worried about too. How many stories have we all read where the team gets separated or there's a timeskip and it takes dozens of chapters to get everyone back together only for everything to go back to status quo save for some new tricks from everyone. Fuck that noise. Get it over and done with as soon as possible. 😃
Look at it this way, the time skip wasn't there to automatically advance the characters prowess, rather it was to widen the plot. Similar to how Dragonball used the timeskip. From the end of dragonball to the beginning of DBZ, Goku wasn't really any stronger than before. So, bottom line, I'm okay with this timeskip.
Sarcasm just doesn't work over the internet.

I was extremely disappointed by this chapter. I thought that the mangaka finally advanced the story and mixed things up, but then he goes and pulls a Deus Ex Machina out of his ass. I mean REALLY?
Sometimes I get tired of this shounen genre...
And what exactly did the past two chapters accomplish?
Nothing.
Jeez, Fairy Tail has been crappy since the edoras arc

agreed....if you ask me, i think deus ex machina is kinda overused in shounen manga lately these days. meh

Basics of storytelling, dude. You have your introduction, rising action, climax, resolution. You can't be having Bankai (climax) throughout.
If there's anything I'm disappointed about, it's how Mashima didn't exploit this timeskip to explore the side characters a bit more. It'd be nice for the others to have a bit of character development. Arguably the cast's big enough for now, I guess, but it really means a wasted chance, not to mention readers feeling cheated.
