Are you afraid of dogs?

Excuse me for wasting a minute or 2 of your time,
but please do read my post before voting.
Anyway, it's common sense to be scared of a dog that is obviously being threatening,
foaming from the mouth, or just has that "unfriendly/get the hell away from me" look.
If a dog is bigger, gets excited easily, and likes to jump up on people (happens often) I'm going to attempt to dodge them, since bigger dogs can make your ass meet the ground pretty damn fast, even if they're just happy to see you.
My sister has a Pit bull/Boxer(mixed), about 70lbs. I've gotten bruises on my legs from her tail. I'm sure a lot of you can relate ^^;
But for some reason I'm under the impression that a lot of people are afraid of dogs,
in general. They are just afraid of them. Period.
Not disgusted by them, but afraid.
What inspired this thread was a clip I saw on AFV. A police officer was running away from a border collie......A Border Collie.
Now, this thread is not about cats, nor any other animal.
I'm watching you >.>

No, I wasn't very afraid of dogs when I was younger. In any case, I have a very hyper Boxer mix that's about 61lb, and due to that, has made me even less afraid.
On another note, my sister used to be terrified due to a tiny terrier jumping on her when she was around 2. Needless to say, she's pretty much over that fear now that she has to deal with our dog every day haha.
Nah, not really.
I mean, sure I tend to back off a bit if a dog is walking past and trying to sniff me, but I'm not scared or anything, it's just a reflex I've noticed.
That's generally speaking though.
I avoid those pitbulls without a seconds hesitation.
I aint risking nothing 🤣
But most dogs are a-ok.

Nah, dogs and I are usually buds, they can even jump on me all they want. When I was little and only a couple feet high, I literally thought my hyper black lab would some day crush me, but I still wasn't afraid of her... Actually, I've been dragged on the ground by the leash by strong dogs, have scars on my body from nails digging into me, have had my face forced into dirt with dogs pushing me into the ground, and have had my fingernail once punctured by a canine tooth. Still ain't afraid though. 🙂
Completely understand the the tail bruises. I call it "iron tail", quoting pokemon.
I currently have 3 giant labrador retrievers. (the black lab is the mother of the other two 😉 ) Though I've also had a pug (still alive, but we had to give him to my aunt because where I live you can only own up to 3 dogs) and a mutt. Not counting the other 8 puppies we housed for about at least half a year though (the mother was supposed to be fixed, too 😲 ).
If I don't know the dog I'm a little wary of it, but otherwise no.

Personally, I am afraid of dogs. I have several scars from where I was attacked by a dog as a child and have disliked them ever since.

Not at all. I'm the type of person who will cross a street just to pet a dog.
I actually have two dogs, a pretty big german shepherd mix and a mediumish aussie mix, and my boyfriend has a great dane, so I know the perils of having big dogs. I actually taught one of mine to stand for hugs, so some times people think he's about to push them down. 🤣
It's odd, I've actually been bitten by a dog, and I still am not scared of them. 😐
I never had a dog nor did any of my relatives, so
yes, I'm always apprehensive around them. o.o
Not really scared though, which is why I voted "no".

Most people will not realize that dogs, after being tamed, are still animals. Most dog are capable of killing a human adult with a single bite.
Of course there are many good things about dogs as well. But, I rather not risk all that plus the trouble. I get a turtle or some fish or something.

I've never been afraid of dogs.
When I was younger, our neighbor had a very vicious dog always tied to a chain ready to attack. One of the kids that lived there thought it would be funny if he let the chain go on purpose so it would chase and attack me 😳 (It really was only able to bite my hands to death before someone came 😐 ). It wasn't a pleasant expirence... and I was only around 4 at the time so I would think I would be mentally scarred or something, but I still love dogs. Vicious or not. 😃
