I think there are a lot of strong people in Kakashi's generation.. Great examples, are Pain and Konan.. 😀 Though they're a little older, they belong more to the 4th's generation..

But Kakashi himself is a legend too, no..? Kakashi the copy ninja.. And Zabuza is probably of the same generation.. And he belonged to the Seven legendary swordsmen.. There are probably more..

I don't think Kakashi's generation was ignored. When the Fourth died the were still too young and hadn't established themselves as prominent ninjas, and I think by that time the Sannin had made a break for the outside world(in their various ways). When snake-boy reared his head and killed the Third they most likely figured the best qualified ones to lead against such an opponent would be those who knew him the best.

More like his reputation proceeds him, Much like every villain knows who "James Bond" is even tho his a "secret agent". 🤣

Every generation has its heroes, and the generation of Third, Jiraya, etc. is coming to a end with a constant theme it would seem of past decisions coming back with a vengeance.
Naruto may be a Hokage some day but right now he lacks a lot of experience and wisdom that Kakashi has. Kakashi also seems to be of the same frame of mind as Tsunade in regards to believeing in Naruto after seemly failing with Sasuke and Narutos decision to resist using the Kyuu's power at every opportunity.

Its like a prima force(chaos) and Naruto just doesn't have the right kind of mind to beable to turn on that type of power at will. Sasuke with his whole dispelling the Kyuu chakra before Naruto could be consumed gives the hint at least that Kyuu's power can be control hence me saying that Naruto just doesn't have the aptitude for it.

Maybe it has to do with symbolic light and dark issues like Naruto can't control it cause hes a "light" character conpared to Kyuu being "dark" so he can't sync with the power for long amount of time before being corrupted? Sasuke seems to have "bathed" in darkness thus has more control over such things.

That too If it holds true about Madara not being dead and all then that would differently add a crap load of "holy shit" points to the scale and help to understand how much of a badass Sasuke is or could be. Kyuubi says he meet Madara but doesn't elude to anything deeper as of yet.

And very true I see that Kyuu is becoming more and more a liability than a covenant power for those tights spots. I'd really like to see Naruto step up and over come Kyuu. Like going though some kind of major transformation to harness that power( fusing with it, syncing with it, etc.).

This plot has come to a bit of a stand still since Naruto himself has finally gotten strong enough to the point he doesn't need to rely on trying to master that power. Still would like him to master it though cause I'd like to see some more 9-tails boy action while holding the crazy. 😀
