Lying on the Internet
To other people, I don't. But for example, when you have to fill something in, I do that constantly!! Say hello to Mr. Squall Leonhart. ... Don't judge. 🤨 I live in Balamb Garden!
And yeah... when I was underaged for certain sites... o.o;;

Don't think I have.
Unless it's been an obvious lie
and the point of the joke.
I tend to say things as they are without hesitation
and leaving nothing unsaid.

I do when filling out forums all the time. Otherwise, not usually.

They are watching us from space >.> Dun dun
Anyway, no. I only tell the truth about what I'm comfortable with, and if there's something I'm not comfortable with, I'll keep it to myself rather than lie...But I think that using the internet, no matter what you say/don't say, is a security hazard.
I definitely lie on forms and things, when what I'm doing is sketchy in the first place.
Besides, would a liar confess about lying on the 'net?

I'll admit I lied on the internet before. I was much younger at the time, like 13. I prefered not to be honest, just because of all those horrible stories you used to hear about the internet. I was always very careful. I still am careful actually.
Plus I've also lied about my age. Say I'm 18 on certain sites, even though I'm not. I'll continue to do that until I hit 18 🤣

Yes most of the time when registering forums. I lie in some parts and fill in correct personal info if I become to trust the sites (like Mangaupdates :haha 🙂

Only when I'm registering on certain sites, I make myself a lot older.
Besides that I don't lie, if you can't be honest on the internet where can you be honest 😕
No one gives a shit what trite garbage you write here.

Lol I'm one of those paranoid "don't trust the net" people. I don't lie per se but I strictly NEVER reveal any identifying information online. To anyone. Ever. (With the exception of secure, encrypted SSL shopping websites of good repute, like Amazon. Certainly never to any individual.) So the generalities I say are all true in forums like these, but if I'm asked for identifying info from a person on such a forum, I just never disclose it. Hobbies and interests are safe topics, as are general personal details that wouldn't be any different from a zillion other people (eg. whether I have siblings, what kinda food I like). But I start getting wary if anyone asks me for identifying info that I haven't already disclosed, like my name or location or birth date. Part of me wonders, "Could this be the freakozoid that stalked me a couple of years ago?" And I just clam up. (Yes, I was stalked. Traumatizing experience; will never be careless with personal info again.)
And that's not what I use the net for anyway - I only use it for hobbies and stuff, any real "socializing" I keep for offline and I prefer it that way. So while I don't lie, I don't share anything of specific value either, where it would actually matter whether I lied. shrug Since I prefer staying quiet to lying, I'll just ignore questions that I find uncomfortable, and I won't answer them. Makes me feel guilty sometimes but hey, it's better than lying to people just to make myself feel safe, right? Some of my online acquaintances have gotten used to my "mine field" questions so they know what not to ask, since they won't get answers anyway. Everything else is fair game. 🙂
Lol but I've lied on quizzes. <_< Like that Harry Potter quiz where I really, REALLY wanted to be scored as Severus Snape. Embarrassing I know. Aaaaand... I've lied about my postcode because this one stupid site (can't remember which one now, it was years ago) wouldn't let non-US residents sign up. So I just used my cousin's postcode who lives in Texas. Shame on me. hangs head There was no money involved tho so it's not like my cousin ended up paying for anything... Still feel bad about using his postcode w/out his permission, though!

Sometimes to sign up or things. I have a fake name made up of my middle name and my mom's maiden name and use an old address. But usually, I'm more honest online than I am in real life. Hey, I figure chances of me meeting someone from online in real life are pretty slim and it's easier to tell the truth to a complete stranger.

I haven't had any reason to lie on the internet.
I've had reason not to give out my personal information and put in either a false or secondary email address because I don't want to be spammed.
Haven't been burned by it so far. It'll probably take being burned before I consider changing habits.
However, I WILL NEVER give anyone the ability to Direct Deposit OR Direct Withdraw from my primary bank accounts except for my immediate employer. (This includes PayPal, et. al.)
At least in the USA, once you authorize the ability to Direct Deposit or Direct Withdraw, that entity has the ability to do either or BOTH for whatever amounts they please, and YOU cannot tell the bank to cut them off. The only way they can be stopped is to ask the company to stop and hope they do as you've requested. Once you give them permission, you're essentially screwed.
If you've ever thought or said "Nice Guys finish last" and really meant it, then you should probably read this LJ post by DivaLion. It's incredibly insightful whether you're male or female.
