Indonesia (Bahasa indonesia)
well, there is alot of indonesian in web-forum 🤣

i learned english before i could speak with my native langguage.
that's because when i was little (about 2-3 years old) i followed my parent went aboard

FYI, indonesian not only learned their mother tounge, but also their 'race" langguage.
for example, i can speak indonesian, english, and "javanesse" cause i'm also a javanesse.

mostly, an indonesian ,minimum, will speak fluently in three different langguage

Native language is Tamil. But, I grew up listening to 4 different languages at the same time -
Tamil - mother tongue
Hindi - local language
Gujarati - local language
English - medium of instruction since kindergarten

When I was younger I used to mix them all up while speaking ^^ Now, my parents say that I think in English and translate it to other languages.

My first language was Spanish since both my parents were Hispanic and were born in Hispanic countries. I, however, was born in America. As soon as I learned English it became pretty much all I spoke and it is currently the language I speak and write best.

Native Language :: Bahasa (Indonesian)

Start to learn English when playing playstation and at the elementary school. ^^" Not good with tenses anyway. I'm better at translating than writing English. Now, google translate is very helpful for me when I'm searching some words that IDK what to say in English.

I can't speak chinese, because I just know some and I just can hear it when my parent talk in chinese. Still, I just can answer Chinese with my native language. This problem same with the Japanese, which I just know some word and read some hiragana. I also learn German... But! I'm already forget everything except how to self introduction.

Still, I'm quite surprised that there's so many Indonesians here.

My native language is Indonesian, with English as second language. Unfortunately, as a Chinese descendant, I didn't master my 'mother language' - tiochiu/teochew (dialect) or Mandarin language. I still could understand part of it, but no longer able to speak the language 🤢 .

English. I also learned French from an early age (Canadian) and understand it well, but everyone I met in France laughed and started speaking English when I spoke it... I like to think that they were laughing 'with' me. 😉
