Can we branch this off to our favorite devil fruit? Because I think that the kilo kilo fruit had a lot of unrealized potential, it only it was used more tactically.
Tactically? Maybe if instead of the whole body being weighed down at one certain parts? And maybe the other way around too with becoming light, having a effect like Brook's DF. I know this may sound kinda gross, but I was also thinking about the dude who made his booger's explode. The kilo kilo fruit could do the same except with a cannonball effect, hitting hard instead of exploding.
I was thinking about getting really heavy and stomping, too. And if you way a million pounds, you're probably going to be resistant to damage, or if you weigh next to nothing, you'd probably be blown out of the way of any strong attacks just by the wind they produce. Closing distances quickly at light weight speed, 100 ton punches, cannonballing boats then floating away on the wind... it was a wasted power.

When your body (or a part of it) is really heavy you can't control it. You can only make it fall from above. So you can't use this against a fast enemy.

You don't know what the upper limit of the power is. So you don't know if the user can make him/herself weight a million punds.
And either light ot heavy you would be still vulnerable to cutting or piercing attacks.

And the biggest problem. We don't know how fast the user can change from light to heavy. All the above tricks would only work if the change was instantaneous.

Yeah, that ability had a lot of potential like the one of the guy who can make his booger explosive. It's just that the user didn't use it that well. Luffy doesn't have that good of an ability, but he uses it quite nicely.

That definitely is true, Luffy's DF ability isn't really that great compared to the others. His just really good at using his ability to it's full potential.

well it depends on how you look at his ability. i think his being naturally immune to someone like Enel makes his power have a large plus side to it. (although it was a lucky thing to occur in the first place 🤣 ). but i don't think the others we've seen so far seem better than his, well in the Paramecia type at least.

What about Miss Valentine making herself light when she raises her arm/etc then as she pusher forward and stuff make herself heavy.

Her max is 10 000 kg. Which translates to about 22 046.2 lb.

That seems pretty fast to me.
