Something where the guy is a "player"

Not really a player, but in what i've read theres always girls coming on to the main guy and want him to have sex with them, but he always runs off. Is there one where the guy doesn't run away? He may still have legitimate feelings for another girl but when one of them is laid out on a bed or in an empty classroom, he's like, "Oh man, I'm conflicted as to who I should go with... but I can't reject this." and gets into more trouble.

It could even be really cliche/same-as-something-else. I'm just looking for that one element. I would love to see that since I like romance manga but those types of scenes always baffle me.

Thanks for School Days. The ending was a bit bizarre and really came out of the blue for me, but I enjoyed it.

You've probably read this, but Gekka no Kimi is kinda along the lines of what you described. It's pretty good.

Don't spoil anything, but is is noticeably different than the manga like how FullMetal Alchemist is really different than the manga? For some reason I don't like to watch manga based anime thats the same as the manga unless it has fights that will be animated.

The ending is completely different. It's a bit more.... dark.

Sakura Taisen is like that more or less...
You should also check out stuff translated by the group "Solaris-SVU" they have a lot of the type of manga that you are describing.

I'd recommend the anime first if anything. As a person who didn't watch the anime, I can say firmly that the school days manga is .. . terrible. The only real character development leads you to hate the male lead, and the ending is so ****ing random. Since school days is as big as it is I'm assuming the anime had a little more erm . . development, which might let people enjoy the manga a little more than little old me (since they already have a more complex image of the characters in their mind).
