what?? by idontevenknow on July 18th, 2009, 1:57pm

To be honest, I almost never give a manga this kind of rating unless I really didn't like it. I pretty much agree with what everyone has said about this so far; it has way too much drama and the ending (yes I somehow managed to finish it) made me really confused. The couple just made me so.... OINAGIOANOIDNAKNV IANSI Anyways, I am done with my rant. To sum it up, I didn't really like this manga. I wouldn't recommend it, but some people like it so whatever floats your boat.

Horrible! by _mel on March 1st, 2009, 5:59pm

This was so bad, its not even funny. I wouldn't even recommend this manga to someone who just wants to waste time. I started out actually liking the manga, but somewhere in the middle, it just got to be too much! Not to mention the ending is terribly confusing!

Way too Over Dramatic by markdarkangel on February 28th, 2009, 3:54pm

This manga is like a soap opera drama that bored housewifes watch while eating bon-bons. Just too much drama that was not needed, one misunderstanding that leads to another and then another until it got annoying to the point of wanting to drop the manga.
The premise of the story was good and the art was ok, but it felt like the story was shoving itself down my throat. It have its redeaming qualities but it could have done without the extra drama.

Eh... confusing by chueisha on February 21st, 2009, 12:49pm

The manga was kind of confusing @_@; with all the changing of attitudes and stuff. Also, there were some parts that weren't fully explained, as in for example:
Spoiler (highlight to view) Hazuki.. was that his name? in any case, he completely forgotten about his time with Shuu and only remember about finding his wife from the previous life.. Muzaki or whatever? ... Did he even get his memories back? Or did i miss that part @_@; And I genuinly thought Hikaru was him then and Hazuki was Hikaru and they switched.. ugh.. what a confusion.
In any case, while it kind of makes me think this manga is tragic, it doesn't live up to that... It still very shoujo-ish and although it did went to the tragic part a bit, but I find myself pitying the friend more than the actual couple ROFL.

well... by dreamit. on February 17th, 2009, 2:42pm

At first i saw everyone's hateful comments but i didn't think anything of it cuz i've experienced a time when a lot of people hated the manga yet i liked it a lot, however, this manga was different. The mangaka has made a lot of good manga's so i thought this one would also be good but it didn't exceed my expectations. This manga, like everyone said, was missing something and i agree. It was a cute manga with a good plot but everything was kind of random and it was just missing something. Not horrible but probably the worst she's made.

Manga tries too hard. by naikan on February 7th, 2009, 7:52pm
|
I felt that the idea was very interesting, but the manga failed in the delivery of it. The mangaka tried too hard to somehow tie the present day with the events in the past and all that resulted in was a very jerky, confusing, over-the-top story. Clearly present day Japan is not like the aristocratic society of the Heian period, yet the characters are somehow stuck in the same "tragic" cycle as the characters in Genji Monogatari- but no real explanation as to why that should happen. The current reincarnations have different personalities, they meet in different circumstances, and their environment is completely different; so trying to make their relationship parallel Genji and Murasaki's relationship is completely absurd. The romantic setups are also extremely cheesy and feel contrived, and their everyday behaviour is unnatural. It could have been a nice story, but it ended up failing on so many levels.

This started out with a lot of potential. The plot was good, characters were well fleshed out. The only problem was the drama was ridiculous. I think the manga-ka tried to make the characters cry at least once in every chapter, and then have them argue, split apart and confess their love again in 5 chapter cycles. The historical aspect is good, but after seeing how stupid the couple is, you just wanna shoot them.

Reconsidered. :) by Meepyish on September 24th, 2008, 11:15pm

The first time I read this manga, I had to drop it because all the over-the-top drama was making me really mad.
However, my second time through (like 3 years later, lol) I found I really enjoyed this series. The drama and everything keeps everything interesting, and I've found that I've always loved Shimaki Ako's twists and turns in her stories. Keeps them interesting and un-cliche.
I also remember disliking the art the first time I read this manga--the mangaka draws characters' noses weirdly from the side. I've found that I don't feel that way now, after reading so many of her newer works, in which the noses had evolved to something more comfortable visually. |

no good by destati on September 22nd, 2008, 7:42pm

Reading this one made me upset and annoyed. The leads are always hurting each other for some reason. It's not so much other people get in their way but they get in the way of themselves. It gets tiring. By volume 4, I dropped it.
