Polite bump.

I don't really care, to be honest. Just having a kid is super cute. :'3 But I prefer to have a daughter first, since I already grew up with three brothers, so I guess that's the reason. I'd love him/her nonetheless though~

Shame on the people who never want children! ;___;

I'd want a girl!

I don't know why. I mean, the only man in my house is my dad. I have 2 older sisters, so you'd think that maybe i'd want a boy, but no. I want a girl 🤣

Really and truely though, I don't mind 🙂 I'd be happy with whatever happens.

I won't be thinking about having children for a long time yet though. Let me get my degree, a decent job, and then i'll start worrying about a family 🤣

Shame on the people who never want children! ;___;

There's too many people already. The population only
grows and grows if 2 people have more than 2 kids.
(Exponentiation.)
Besides, nowadays we have all kinds of tricks to dodge
the normal life and death distribution, unlike animals
that have many cubs 'cause many of them are going to die
before the age they are to mate.
As the population grows, we need more and more resources
and history has shown us that people are prone to consume
more resources and commodities every generation as well
as good at finding totally mindless ways to consume the
remaining resources (like mowing lawn or having
fireworks shows.) As time passes, we have dug the first
layers of strata bare of minerals and we need to use more
energy to get our ores from the depths and we will have
a hard time maintaining the ratio positive when it takes
more energy than the minerals are worth. It's as mindless
as creating artificial diamonds.

TLDR; Vanity will destroy our planet.

Um... 😐 I want to have children, but then I think about them becoming teenagers...and then I'm all "hell no." But I do eventually want a kid. I think I'd want a girl, but a boy would be easier...If my kid's guaranteed to be a tom boy after age 10 and as smart as me, fine, I'll want a girl.

And mamsmilk is right. Slightly off-topic right, but right. I've thought about it a lot, and I think the guilt would kill me; having a child when there are so many that have no mothers. I do want to have a child that comes from me, just to experience it, but I also would like to adopt, and that's a good option because you never know what can happen to your body (irrational fear? yeah, right) And I'm all for cutting down the population.

I've been wanting to adopt a cute little Russian girl since I watched Orphan.

Soooo.... I am now in the process of having an adoption home study done to adopt from foster care, supposed to be done by the end of the month & then I can start trying to connect w/a child. Turns out that income isn't as big a deal as I'd thought for adoption through the foster system and the total cost will probably be under $1000. 😀

This will be the third child in our house - my boys are almost 14 & not too sure about the whole thing unless it's a kid like my foster son (who was adopted by his extended family in January at 18 months old & I still miss him every day) or their nephew, who's almost 2. So I'm looking for a child under/around 2 years old, and probably another boy. (Hey, boys are fun! And at this point, I can face the prospect of trucks & trains a lot better than pink & purple plastic princess stuff...)

I have to say - the experience of pregnancy & birth was awesome. BUT at this point even if I wasn't single, I don't think I could justify to myself bringing another life into a world that's already overcrowded AND has a ton of kids who need parents.

I would prefer a girl...cause they are more caring than guys. I just have to look at myself. I'm rude to my parents and not caring at all...

I don't care what gender the baby is, I'll love them either way.

True- and you do. But for me the first time I had a baby I wanted a girl -- and we got a boy. And at first, yes I was a little disappointed. But once he came, it changed everything and now I couldn't imagine having anyone but him. (This was about 3 years ago.)
For my second child I truly didn't care, everyone asked what I "really" wanted and the only thing that I wanted was a healthy baby - and then this past July we were granted with a healthy baby girl. ^^
And now I think we're done - unless something happens and then bring on the next one~ 🤣

Going through the adoption home study they wanted to know if I had a preference for a boy or a girl, and I found that I really didn't; no matter how I thought about it I just didn't care but my twins have a definite preference for another boy. And then~~!

I got my first foster son back! 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

The adoption by his extended family "didn't work out" so they brought him back to me, and it may be forever. 😀

At this point I really can't imagine having a girl, but I'm sure I'd love & be happy with a girl too.

One of each I suppose, but not sure if I'm mentally prepared for 2 children. But I've always wanted to raise children of my own because of my parents. My father to was a person that I respected the most and it was because of the sacrifices he made for me and my siblings. My Mother was arranged to marry at the age of 16 and today both of them have gone so far.
So I plan to be able to give my children the same carefree life I had but hopefully in-turn not abuse that freedom and aspire to do more than live off the money of your parents (like me 😛 ).

I'm having a girl in March, but I would have been fine with having a boy as well. I'd like to have one of each in the end, but we'll see what happens.
