MMOs: Healers, White Mages, etc. You will never not find a party, and without them no one else is going anywhere. Only so long a warrior can solo before they'll want to claw their eyes out.
Single-player RPGs, SRPGs: No one class reigns supreme. Unless you're playing FFVII or something where every character can be made a blank slate, you'll have to find what class fits your current situation and develop strategies to come out ahead. But healers are still underrated in these games.

I personally would have put the second paladin under the priest section, as a paladin in Diablo is a warrior with divine power. They know magic, but most of it is still for helping others out or for killing unholy things (like skeletons and zombies). Just my opinion.

i love all the classes, just dispise people who think casters are "cheap" and "noob" because they're able to kite the meleers around like puppets. I mean that's the entire point isnt it?

Priest, why? because every bloody game I play I choose the priest, and guess what? I kick more butt then the warrior or mage standing next to me. Maybe I just rock (I'd like to think so) but more likely is that game designers usually slack off when dealing with priest offensive skills, leaving lots of exploites
If theres no priest, definatly that necro one, or the sorc/wizard, ahh D2 wtf

priests kick ass, especially in WoW, their abilities are rediculous especially if u specialize in DPS

No kidding I used to play (dont nemore), I would top the damage charts in a group of 20 or so people when most of them had better gear, plus I heal and restore the groups mana, wtf? overpowered much?
Ragnarok online is worse mind you, wanna win a duel? The priest has a skill that makes all the enemy damage holy, theres an item any character can wear (well actually a card they use on the item) that makes the character immune to all holy damage. Great job guys, I can see the developers thought this one through

ragnorock sucked, a P2P of that quality? u gotta be kidding me. I played a private server for that and puked at how grossly terrible it is. The only good isometric 2.5d game that was ever worth playing online was diablo 2.

Ya I thought it sucked at first, but it occupied me for a good month or so, and you'd be amazed what a month can do for you on a private server with 50times the xp gain, and a large number of friends that can power lvl any chacter to the lvl 100, a "restart lvl" (basicly move up a tier) and then up to 60 again in 3-4 hours
Hmm wait, this is really off topic (not that it really bugs me, or else I really wouldnt be posting this)
but ya D2 was great Necro or orbstress ftw

Healerrrr!! ...Or hunter =d
I like using characters with high speed, like thief or assassin then laughing at enemies when they miss an attack.
Lately though, I've been turning to mage/wizard simply because I enjoy being a walking tank, and those magic spells usually have more/prettier effects.
After those two I'd settle with a good ole archer. Nothing beats running away and hitting people when you know they can't get you back.

I'm always the ranged fighter/hunter. Precision and strategy, I always say. Warriors/Brute fighters don't appeal well with me. No class, no style, no finesse. (though I'm sure a billion people will disagree) Plus, it's way too common and it's always the most overpopulated class. (most of the time, because it's the easiest)
After hunters I'd probably be the priest/healer. They're always underrated, but a party can't survive without you. 😀

There are always exceptions to the rule, but I agree for the most part warrior types are hack first, think if and when we survive, maybe...
Paladin. Holy type kinda. Umm, no reason what so ever though.
Just beacuse I have Paladin on Wow and it's Holy spec. 😀
