1. Fullmetal Alchemist; probably because its so very un-shounen like.
2. One Piece; because of it's storytelling. The fights arent that good.
3. Hunter x Hunter; because it takes the basics of old school shounen and reinvents them

Black Cat
Claymore

Ares and SAO would get pretty high marks for "best" ongoing shounen, together with One Piece, but it's very hard to choose 🙁

Ares seemed to have a good story line, but the art is not my best rating.

yeah, kind of true, but i think it actually fits the whole "ancient world" of ares and for me the story often is more important than the art, unless it is really really bad (or rather "old fashioned" =)

Plus I really like the greek, roman & nordic mythology~

personally i liked bleach and early naruto alot better than GTO(it was funny but a little to random and the scans i found werent cleaned very well)

Aaak!!! I can't believe I forgot HxH... But I must admit it's the authors fault... It has been sooooo long since the last chapter was out.
And I agree about FMA to, it's really a good manga. I just didn't think it well enough before posting apparently. Yup, I'd put FMA and HxH as the best Shonen, if I had to chose.

You're making one big assumption and that is that i am not fans of those series. I am definitely still a fan of bleach (hell, i started watching the anime again and i stopped watching anime regularly a while ago) but not so much with naruto. One can enjoy a series without necessarily thinking that they are great. Usually when i watch/read those, it is more to turn up the dial on the wow part of my brain. I enjoy them, I have my favorite characters, now attacks, played the games, etc. but there is something about them that doesnt appeal to me in the same way as One Piece or DBZ (i put dbz up there because it was the first anime i really saw (at like 6:00 am along with sailor moon on tv when i was a kid) and because of its influence) or whatever series. Regardless, these are all opinions and its not anyone is changing my opinion and vice versa.

Also about GTO, the randomness is just a part of the series and the scans that you probably read were some of the first scanlations to come out on the net, so they aren't going to be great.

Well, the best shounen manga of all-time.... (an easy one) Dragon Ball (and i really like Yuu Yuu Hakusho)
But the best currently running.... Months ago I would have said Bleach, but now Tite seems to be smoking some cheap grass. But I recently rediscovered One Piece and i'm currently reading Eyeshield 21. So I choose the both. 😛

Well, School Rumble has been in a slump lately >_<
My intense interest in the manga was somewhat revived by the "resurrection" of Yakumo, but unfortunately, that intenseness has changed polarity with the movement back to Eri...although the latest chapter has once again filled me with some hope, I'm not sure if it'll actually pull through...

On the other hand, Hayate the Combat Butler is doing very well, and that might be for me the best shounen currenty running ^_^

...or maybe even Ai Kora as well XD

best shounen is kinda hard for me as i have so many favorites, as of right now the ones i look forward to the most are prolly Vagabond and Ares.

i'm more into shoujo, and i don't read a lot of shounen, but of the ones that i do, i really enjoy Air Gear. I think Kazu's hot.

naruto... why do i have a suspicion that everyone doesnt name it just beciouse it airs on cartoon network...

well cartoon network did make it look all happy, silly, and childfriendly. i really liked the manga, if was funny but when a fight came around they got serious

i dont really like this second part of the mange to much tho......

Naruto is the most overrated manga of our time. The best shounen, for me, has to be either Death Note or GTO.
