I'm really bored and don't have anything to read. Last time I requested manga here I found quite a few to my liking, so I thought I'd try again.

I'm not going to give you any real guidelines for suggesting something this time, just look at my lists to get taste of what I like (of course I've seen a lot more anime than manga so my lists don't cover everything).

If you can't decipher from my lists, my tastes are pretty much as follows:

I like: girls, yuri, action, ecchi, violence, adventure stories and morally gray characters(Death Note, Code Geass, etc).

I don't really care for: lame/generic main characters, yaoi, harems, sports, ultra-realism, slice of life type stuff and shoujo in general pretty much.

Go ahead and suggest anything you'd think I'd kind be interested in.

Haha kinda like me ^_^ But I just head on over to Doujin-Moe if I feel the urge, I like to keep my manga and Hentai seperate!

Some Good ones:

Gantz - Blood and Boobs, Super-Fast Paced action

Deadman Wonderland - Blood, awsome characters, Sexy Chikas but fully clothed :/

Elfen Lied - Blood and Boobs, kinda mediochore art. Excellent Story and not too much love drama

Tsubasa Chronicle - At the end of my reading list but a good adventour [lack of spelling skill]

xxxHOLIC - Linked with Tsubasa, a light supernatural manga. Hits of Yaoi but it's seriously not gonna happen

Everyone says I should read Gantz, and I probably should, but it's really hard to pick up the initiative to start from scratch on a 200+ chapter series even when I am bored out of my mind.

Hadn't heard much about Deadman Wonderland. Sounds pretty good. Might be one I actually do start.

I remember enjoying the Elfen Lied anime; I'm sure there's much more to the manga. I might end up looking at it, I don't know.

As for Tsubasa and xxxHolic, aside from Geass I've never really been too fond of CLAMP's style. I've heard of both series, but the interest isn't really there at the moment..

Anyways, thanks for the suggestions.

I can suggest you many things, but I think the fastest way is if you look for shounen and seinen on my reading and complete list which have at least 9. Hope you find something good.

If you want gray characters I suggest you stuff like Shin Angyo Onshi, Ares, Vampire Juujikai, Kurozuka and particularly Gunslinger Girl (you seem to like girls and yuri and this is a manga mostly based on little girls who became killing machines. There is no real yuri, but a sort of that kind of atmosphere).

If you like Death Note, try ES and Spiral which are 10 times better imho.

Your interests are pretty much the same as mine... if you use Mangafox for your manga you can just do a genre search and your problem is solved.

Knowing your manga tastes, I'm sure you'll eat those words when you're finally going to start Gantz. If I remember correctly, it even has a huge-breasted babe on the first page of the first chapter (on a magazine that the main character is drooling at though, but that's irrelevant.)

Must meet the expectations of an ecchi-lover as you. It even features a huge-breasted lady (even multiple women sometimes) on (nearly) every title page. Trust me, I bet you'll be even wanting more chapters after you've read it.

Plus, the main character is like a real perv at the beginning, and blunt too. He only knows a girl for a second, and already asks if they can have sex. (Strangely enough, he succeeds most of the time.) So, that meets all your ecchi requirements for sure. I don't think there are any Yuri or Shoujo-ai implications though.

That being said, don't be a stupid fanboy that only reads it for the ecchi and gore. 🙂 Gantz is more than that.

Phew, that ends my rant. Excuse me for this 'outburst'. 🤨

I've been thinking about Gunslinger Girl for a while now. I think now, you've convinced me to give it a try.

Of your other suggestions, Vampire Juujikai definitely seems like something I could pick up easily. Kurozuka and Shin Angyo Onshi sound like they might have potential for me as well, though probably less immediately.

I've tried finding series by searching, but I can never tell what's going to be any good. Besides, some things are hard to search for or hard to filter out of a search (things like thought out, developed characters, minor shoujo-ai subtext, or, simply, quality). I find it's much easier to ask people who know what they are talking about for suggestions than attempting to find a series through a search and just hope it's good.

I'm sure you're absolutely right. And don't worry, if all a series has is ecchi and gore I lose interest (I don't even really care for too much gore). I'll probably get to the series eventually.. just not now...

It sucks being bored and lazy at the same time.

that may be the case, but you should just pick up chapter 1 and start reading, its an extremely addicting series. its probably what helped get me into manga, i started downloading the anime, after a few episodes i got so impatient waiting for the DL to finish that i just found the manga online and started reading ahead. mind you this was taking place at about 3am when i was supposed to be writing a paper. needless to say somewhere around chapter 200 i tore myself away and started my paper like 2 hours before it was due.

sorry for the random rant, but seriously, pick up gantz, its not just ecchi gore, but there actually is a really interesting story line that im curious to see pan out. not only that but the characters are well thought out and very dynamic. the main dude changes completely through the course of the manga, it keeps you guessing.

well read it already damnet.

Alright. I got it. I have officially added Gantz to the list of titles I'll read it, if only to get people to stop telling me to do so (though I'm sure I'll enjoy it). I'll probably get to it after I've read up on a few more of the other titles suggested so far (I already read all of reid1's suggestion, Vampire Juujikai, available so far, and was quite pleased).

Anyways, if anyone has more suggestions I'm open (even though I have plenty of reading material now). Judging by most of the suggestions so far, I can see the violence/ecchi factors are what's being focused on, but really it doesn't necessarily need that. I am very open to lighter, subtler stuff as well (so long as it still roughly fits my tastes).

You also read Gunslinger Girl? Do you like it? (It's strange, I thought that Vampire Juujikai was probably the one less fit judging your first post and your lists, but well, it's better this way 🙂 ).

No, haven't quite gotten to Gunslinger Girl, but I've decided it to be the next thing I start. Should be getting into it some time this week.

As for Vampire Juujikai, I guess it's hard for me to judge from a short summary and a single cover shot, but out of your suggestions it seemed the closest to my tastes besides Gunsligner Girl (which had way more chapters for me to read and thus had to come later). The other ones seemed either too serious or just not what I'm looking for (as in there wasn't some cute/sexy girl on the cover or any female character mentioned in the summary). I might still check out the first chapters of some of them though, as I suppose that would be a superior way to gauge my interest in them.

Hmm, I know it's probably hard for me to judge based on just the info page, but as far as I can tell this series has very little going for it that would appeal to me.

As I said before I don't particularly care for sports manga and I don't see any indication of it having a strong female cast (or having much of the rest of what I enjoy in manga). What's more, if I'm hesitant to start a 200+ chapter series, there's very little chance I'm going to start an 800+ chapter manga.

Regardless, thanks for the suggestion.

I've heard a lot about both series; never been too compelled by either.

Thank you for the suggestions though.
