♥Who do you admire on the forums, and why? ♥
A thread of who you've noticed posting in the forums, and your thoughts of how cool, or awesome someone is. Simply because their choice of avatar, how they can eloquently phrases things, how funny their posts are, or whatever got your interest.

*It's come to my attention that there's a "Who is your favorite mod, admin, or user" thread. Before anyone says the topic is the same, It's not. There are no favorites in this thread. It more for 'I noticed you around, and wanted to say something nice about you' or 'I shall always read your posts because I think you're great' sort of thing. Admiration not Favoritism. *

Guidelines:

  • No sarcasm
I didn't think this would need to be said, but don't say you admire yourself. It comes off as sarcastic, and has the potential to get off topic.
  • Be honest
  • Don't go overboard. Especially with a mile long post of why you admire one person.
  • No bashing. (Remember this is admiration thread, not a dislike one)
  • Default someone's gender to he if not stated on their page, or they have never said in post.
That's all I have right now. I may add more, if other suggestions are made for rules, or I think of something else.
  • No ranking. ( Order should be random, *In cases of posting more than once from one person, but at a later time - it shouldn't mean anything if one shows up on the first post, or following post(s). *.)
  • For Mods I think it would be best if you only mention other Mods .. if that. This is if a Mod wants to comment, Not if you want to mention a Mod. (Thought process for this is - Mods are like parents, and the members are children. If I Mod were to say I like this person, but not mention someone else. It would be like your parent favors your sibling over you. And a Mod can't go and write something about everyone (all children) there's too many. In thoughts of a Mod to another Mod, it would be like a parent praising the other parent.)

Let the flattery, ego boosting, blushing and smiling commence. 😀

For me:
dalek - She seems so delightful. Her knowledge of manga (based on her complete list, and suggestions) makes me think she's great.

NightSwan - Might be because of her avatar/signature combo, or just how she write her posts.

Baalzebup - You come off as intelligent, and your posts seem well thought out. There's something else I just can't put my finger on it right now.

狂気 - I like your bluntness.

Eeled - Simply because I love your avatar. It always puts a smile on my face.

There's more people, but this is enough for now.

It's a little hard to get to know people on these forums, simply because the arrangement doesn't seem all that suited to direct conversation.

That said, I'm always very impressed by Tsubamex in the Looking For threads; she posts amazingly encyclopedic and helpful responses.

This also reminds me that I really, really need to get around to putting up an avatar.

Weird o.o

Lately I've been seeing you around a lot (just like little new topics you start randomly...).

I see these people mu2020 , ChocoKun , tartufo , reid1 around a lot when I'm browsing the forums/replying to threads. No clue if it's a case of similar interests or their high number of posts -.-;;.
They are very helpful/detailed and start interesting threads, and I recognize their icons/signatures when I do see them. Not really a case of admiration but rather observance??

Then again there are also people like these grumble_cakes with strangely captivating icons.

There was a time when I stalked calstine and Crenshinibon for what to read.
They just seem to have good taste. 😛

Oh my.. It seems it's my turn to blush. 🤣

Now mind you, there are more but these are the ones that a) have caught my eye one way or another and b) I am able to remember without digging around too much.

Quote from Kitty18dnsz

狂気 - I like your bluntness.

Seconded, for the very same reason. I like blunt and he is not too shy to share it with us 🙂 lambchopsil gets the honor of joining the list for the same reason.

Tripitaka For his fleshed out, well worded posts. He seems to make recommendations left and right and they are always more than just a link to the piece in question. I kinda like the avatar too.

Damnedman For the combination of his memorable avatar, sig and posts both helpful and amusing.

TofuQueen First of all, the sig makes me smile every single time I read it. For the rest, I've grown to like her posts. They are well written and though of.

I'd actually prefer if this didn't turn into a circle-praise, but I do have to give a hand to Kitty18dnsz She caught my attention due to her avatar(best comic, bar none), but I've grown to like her way of chatting up the forums section with a passion.

I disagree. The way people write, and reading posts from thread. (mostly from other sections than I'm looking for, like the chatter box, or the weekly polls) you can get a decent enough impression of who that person is like, and feel admiration.

I'll take this as a compliment 😀 Although it's probably not intended to be ....

@Baalzebup Two times in one day. >////>

More people I admire.
Gorath - For your avatar, and simple posts.

mizunosaki - Starting this thread. The topic has made me think differently, and I admire your feelings on the subject.

Tsubamex - For the same reason as Bafflement. I really like how you take the time to not only make suggestions, but to explain each one.

Tripitaka - Everything Baalzebup said (he worded it very nicer than I could, heh) minus the avatar part. Although I your avatar for myself, it does seem very fitting for you.

MissJanny - I don't see you much on the forums, but the way you replied to one of my threads left a nice impression. You even went through the trouble to suggest tags I could look at for the type of story I was looking for.

NibbPower - I know you're new to the forums, but you seem so adorable. (Which I hope you don't take offensively). I really want to give you a hug. I also like how you like the rules, and try to help inform others of what they are.

*-Sidenote: Man it's hard to find some people. Still have plenty more.
All this talk of admiration is making me think of Tears for Fear- Head over heels. I think it's just that word admiration. *

Hard for me to say, since I haven't on the forums for a very long time.

But if I had to say someone on MU it would be lambchopsil for taking care of this site for so long. I have some amount of experience as a website admin and I can say it's hard to keep it up for so long.

Although I have been lurking on the forums for at least a year now, but I still don't know much of the people on here. But if I have to choose, I would say those who keep the forum clean and follow te rules. I can't really choose among one individual because that's just mean.

Nope it is. I love that people are active here on MU.

As for this I don't really understand why you say it's mean?? It's like if your teacher recognized someone in your class for outstanding work; it's not mean that he/she did so...

This is going to be long... 🤣

Well, in the Yaoi/Yuri section, I really like:
AngelCharms, very helpful with yaoi mangas and gives a lot of recommendations when asked.
caozhi, because of her signatures, avatar and yuri recommendations!

In other places:
Kitty18dnsz, I love your threads and how happy that avatar of yours looks. I love seeing a new topic to post my opinion and they are always interesting! Also, I like your sidenotes like "I'm sleepy", "I should proofread this", like you are talking to yourself. #stalker
Tsubamex, same reason as you guys. 🤣
VampireBanana, I love her comments, manga recommendations and her avatar. I like the way she writes...
Nyajinsky, that avatar...
ImaginaryWishes, great recommendations!
Pikapu, avaaaatarrrrsss!!
Tripitaka, lovely and detailed recommendations.
Allez, avatar and recommendations.
Scyfon, avatar and random comments.

There is more, but I have to go through the forum to find them (I must confess: I usually know people by their avatar, not their username... maybe what you said to me is true: I change my avatar everytime, I'm a master of disguise, haha).

Ohhh I feel adored ♥ thanks.

dalek >////> thanks for making me smile.

Another batch of people I admire. ♥

Hanae - I like how you point out my typos. (You've done this more than once). I guess in other words how your not afraid to speak the truth ... ( hmmm it's hard to explain this one...) maybe you don't sugar coat things works better. I hope you get my point.

lover-fighter - Ahhh my heart was swayed with this post. I will now look at all your posts from now on ... I guess you have a groupie. 🤣

Lorska - You also swayed my heart with your post. I really liked the way you conveyed your thoughts. Another person to follow >.>

Dr. Love - You have stared some interesting threads. I'm especially a fan of this one. Before you start a new thread...

lambchopsil - Not only do you log in everyday, and take care of the forums. (kudos by the way). But the posts you do make that aren't talking about the rules or answering questions, are amusing.

reine eclair - For your recommendation in this thread. I've admired you ever since.

Chayto - This post was what caught my eye. (And while trying to find someone else on MU, your taste in music)

blakraven66 - I really do enjoy reading your posts.

AceBunneh - I like that you have a sense of humor. You caught my eye with this post..

So many more to list, but can't find right now.
Sidenote ... I seem to be able to admire anyone for the smallest thing ...
I must be coming off as a very lovey dovey girl or something ... I just easily like people.

Oh, I wasn't saying you can't get an impression of someone from their posts (you most certainly can), I was just pointing out that I felt the arrangement of the forums makes them less chatty than a lot of others.

Well, for me, a couple of people stand out.

Lambchopsil for his apparently endless patience. I've seen him answer the same "can't update my lists" question so many times. I would have flipped out and gone on a crazy rant by now if I were him. The other staff count also, regarding rule violations etc. they are always concise without being rude. There's a fine line between the two which I feel I haven't quite mastered 🙂

Tartufo also, because it seemed like we had very similar tastes, and tartufo's request threads in the I'm Looking For forums were always brilliant, unique, and intriguing to me personally. Not to mention tartufo's responses to other Looking For threads were also very detailed and well thought out. For some reason, haven't seen tartufo in that forum for quite a while now. Mind you, I don't go there as often as I used to either.

I also like the people who respond to my request threads, but to be honest I'm rather forgetful about who usually does that.

Well I don't notice everyone but there are a few people who've I notice are awesome, for me its:

tactics- She always write such interesting post and she always seems neutral on most post in the forums, plus her avatars rock.

Lorska- He always has great romance recommendations

Pikapu- Her avatars are always beautiful and unique.

brid - I never knew whether this user is a female or male, however, his/her posts on naruto were always entertaining.

The only person that I admire here is Kitty18dnsz..

Quote from Kitty18dnsz

It more for 'I noticed you around, and wanted to say something nice about you' or 'I shall always read your posts because I think you're great' sort of thing. Admiration not Favoritism.

The exact reason why, but I started to really admire her when I found out that she is so kind and very helpful, she even gave me some tips... Oh damn, I admire her so much..
