I've had the idea for a while, and I want to make a realistic yaoi story with a zombie setting (no zombie on guy action cause that's gross). With a typical survival plot give or take a few twists in the story (I haven't put that much thought into it yet), and I don't intend on making it like High school of the Dead where it's basically all ecchi (of course I'd still have plenty of yaoi aspects). So what do you think, should I give it a go. And if so what type of zombies should I have, from the research I've done they actually sound like they'd be strong and fast rather than slow, but I'd like this to be appealing to readers if possible, more-so than myself, but that all depends on whether I should go along with it.

As for your idea. I'm not really a fan of mixing romance and horror. If I think zom zom story I want everyone to die. None of that 'somehow managed to escape' all the time stuff. But it all matters on execution. A good story is good no matter the contents.

Zombie aspects ... Ummm I always found that zombies getting smarter over time both interesting and frightening. ( like in Day of the Dead (1985))
I would say don't go down that route of 28 weeks later where one person was "immune".
Oh I did like Escape from High-School Girls Only females were zombies. That may help with the yaoi thing ... But I'm not sure if that would be copying that idea , or just getting inspired by it.

As for how they are Zombies. (virus: Blood, Spit, Disease,etc. or other reasons for infection.) That's up to you ... But I think the key thing would be "undead". The person had to have died and came back to live. Or was infected, killed the body, and became undead.

I'd say go for it, bl in a horror setting sounds interesting and there's not much of it. Do you have a deviantart/pixiv/whatever so we can follow you (if you don't mind sharing of course)?
