What would you choose?

If you were in a situation where you were pursuing an education to get your dream job but somebody offered you a stable job in a field that you like where there is advancement and that has moderate pay (you won't be really wealthy, but you won't be poor either) but isn't your dream job and you'd have to drop school or would you rather pursue the education to possibly get your dream job but it is not definite (say that there is a massive depression and everybody gets laid off or your dream job is no longer offered) what would you pick and why? (Sorry for the long rambly sentence.)

I quit my job at Goldman Sachs to become an author; guess which poll choice I selected.

dream job. (i am assuming that this field is something you love)
things that seem permanent aren't always so
you could have an awesome (but maybe) short time at your dream job
or a not so good time at the "stable" job and it could totally tank. 😔
anything could happen in either choice but if things do not go well wouldn't you rather know that you tried to choose and follow your dream/whatever makes you happy? 😉
that being said. play hard for now. work towards a fun future. 😃

A wise one though. I agree with everything you said.

Financial security is tempting but nothing to live for.
In life it's risks or regrets.

If I had some exciting Job I wanted I'd grab it blindly, but I'm a boring guy.

The choices are too obscured.
A. Boring but stable job that require you to quit school with moderate pay.
B. Still in school with a possibility of just getting an unstable job with no security.
Can't I just stay in school while getting a part time job or internship. Without knowing the amount of money, I can't make an educated choice because at this moment I rather have a paying job so I don't have to live in a cardboard box using manga paper for a blanket.

Boring but stable, it's the smart and responsible thing to do. Although others opinions and my opinions of boring are probably not the same.

Unfortunately, I chose the first option. My dream is to become a PIXAR animator. Instead, I'm looking at a future in a boring 9 to 5 cubicle job coding stuff.
Though, I'm going to see if I can get a job in the US Cyber Command. I need to be lucky and work my ass off, but at least it's not just an ordinary, middle man job. I hope.....

Boring but stable job
I had a job that paid really good but I hated it well I
got fired because I kept missing days and right now
I'd do almost anything to have it back

I guess a boring and stable job
I don't really have a choice in my life
everything is written down for me to follow
I never had a 'dream' job even if I did as a child, all of them were destroyed
anyway I think it's best to have a stable job than a unstable one...

I hear you say "Why?" Always "Why?" You see things; and you say "Why?" But I dream things that never were; and I say "Why not?"

but some people's dream jobs are really stable. like some people dream of being in NASA and they're smart enough to. thats really un likely but they're really fortunate and go on to live they're whole lives happily. but personaly, i would take the dream job. whats the point in living if your not gong to have any fun. if you have your dream job you might have alot more fun and meet more people. if you are going to live your life cooped up in an office or something, you might as well die now. i'll kill myself if i ever have to, unless i'm doing it to support my family with no other choice

Especially in this economy (where I live) I choose boring but stable. If you need the money you can't be picky.
