Well 20th Century Fox acknowledge that there will be a movie, but the location and start date cannot be confirmed. In other words they are keeping tight lipped about it.

I won't say that it was good but I agree that it was funny. Even watching it without subtitles and not knowing what they were saying, I was cracking up. If they make the new movie anything like this one, it will be worth watching...if only to laugh my ass off at Master Roshi!
Who will be the actors though...I couldn't even hazard a guess.

To be perfectly honest, whomever they had as Master Roshi in the Taiwanese version was HILARIOUS. He was also perfect. I loved him in that movie.
Believe it or not, they did release this movie in America. A company called Tai Seng video did it, they even dubbed it. I own the DVD. Very rare. I actually have a habit of collecting live action anime/manga based movies. I have quite a few of them, too. 😀

In a recent article on Canada.com, it was revealed they're begin shooting the film, and it'll finish around July 2008. The budget is estimated at around 100 Million US dollers.

I would have to give a resounding no to a live action version. But if they use motion capture for it it would be absolutely amazing (anyone who has seen the new movie Beowulf will know what I mean by this).
Basically motion capture lets you make a purely digital movie that looks almost real and since the entire movie is digital animation, nothing looks out of place like when they use digital animation for special effects in live action movies.

Now that reminds me.. if anybody watch chinese series you can see most of them are kung fu/martial arts/ninja with flying around and sword and craps. Now I see the graphics aren't that bad but what I do not like is WHAT WILL THE HAIR BE LIKE IN THE LIVE ACTION?! ;-; If it's wigs i will never watch it >< [blonde strike hair ftw xD]
It's about western and chinese this time. Chinese director with western casts and possibly cast crews... Striking hollywood ne~ >< hoping it will go well...

I really haven't read any of the posts, but a One Piece live acton movie would be VERY nice....and feasable...
