Nope, no idea....even though I would like to know, I've tried, but the instructions confused me to no end...

When I first loaded it up I was afraid clicking something would blow it up or some shit, the interface looked so dated. Got used to it eventually, although it's not something I use very often.

Most IRC clients have terrible interface (so I don't blame the people who don't know how to use it), but IRC is almost a necessity to get some of the more obscure anime/manga/movies.
It also offers good chatrooms... ones that aren't constantly spammed by ad bots.
You meet a lot of ... interesting... and crazy... people. Yes, I'll call them people.

I don't use IRC. When I first started reading manga, IRC was really the way to go, but I couldn't figure it out, so I just didn't use it. Then, in the following years, uploading chapters to hosting sites became more common, and now I don't have a reason to learn IRC. As far as I believe, the days of IRC are numbered.
I mostly get manga from hosting sites and torrents.
Last year when various manga hosting sites went down because of copyright notices, I feared that soon I wouldn't be able to read manga online anymore, so I bookmark a bunch of scanlator group pages and learned how to use IRC to prepare for the worst.
One year later, manga hosting sites are still going strong as ever so I don't have to use IRC much. However, it's a good thing to learn something new.
yes, it was quite popular back then in 1998 🤣

Yus, I know how to use it 😀
But I kind of suck with it... and I used the host mIRC (unless that's the only host xD) which you had to pay for == and it gave viruses to my com == so i took it off.
Let's just say Tarot Cards rule.
Just about.
I suck though, so I don't do much on it. I'm a true lurker on IRC 🤣

Yeah, but it's a huge pain. I try to avoid IRC if at all possible. Every time I need to use it again, I have to refresh my memory and get used to it all over again. 🤢
Yes, I know how to use it.
I use Chatzilla. I hate Firefox and how I have to open the browser to use Chatzilla.
Soooo, I decided to use the portable version of Chatzilla. And it works splendidly.
Some guy named, Mr.McPowned created and adapted it for easy use.
His website: http://mrmcpowned.com/blog/post/chatzilla+portable
Portable was my solution and t became easier to chat with scanlation groups and download releases.

If you're going through all that trouble, why not just get a real irc client? like X-Chat, HexChat, mIRC or any of the numbers of other clients, of which a great number are already "portable". Unless you really like Chatzilla's interface, in which case carry on I guess.
