Personally i consider to both to be almost the same

Rape:

• You have to live with what happened to you FOREVER and this can be tramatizing, most rape victims usually never move on but rather ignore what happens and it ends up taking over their life. So, after this starts haunting you in your dreams you end up wishing that you were dead. For guys, this may not be as tramatizing as girls because usually or sometimes girls are left with the after effects on what happened to them like STDS and unwanted prenacy. Also, not to mention how people will look at you after words is almost the worst part of it. I think the thoughts of other people make being rape sooo bad cuz they tend to either try to comfort you after words which leads to you remembering, you being teased or bullied, and/ or people just plain not talking to you ever cuz they dont know how to deal with it more than you so ignoring in in all. So in the end, if you dont recover you end up dead (suicude) as for girls, you might end up abusing your child.

Murder:

• Dead, final, gone. Just as bad. The fearful thing about this is that the people AROUND you deal with the pain not you. So after you die god-knows-what happens to you but the way i see it is that we dont deal with the pain of whatever happens, your just dead. If you are tortured to death, then i have no comment. But if like chop, "off-with-the-head" kind of thing and thats basically an instant death (which if it were to happen to me, i rather to be murdered without any pain happening to me, but thats most unlikely cuz if you were murdered with a purpose, the person murdering you will want to hurt you before you die)

So basically, where i stand, i rather have a nice long life without being raped or the sort happening. (Wait a minute...i didn't answer the question though....so i have no answer cuz i wish to have none happen to me)

Rape is definitely horrible and no woman or man should ever have to experience it. However I believe that Murder is worse. when some one is raped they do have a chance to continue with their life and help others, such as helping other rape victims or have teaching others on ways to protect themselves. with murder its game over, no redoes, no helping others, no life (of course cause it is murder) so yea murder is much worse than rape imo.

It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

I haven't read the whole thread, so apologies if this has already been said, & I'll try to keep it brief.

Depending on the circumstances, the actions of the perpetrator of rape can be much worse than those of the perpetrator of murder.

Murder can happen in a moment of anger, extreme provocation, poor judgment, etc. with the killer's action taking only as long as it takes to pull the trigger of a gun. Rape, on the other hand, is not a momentary action, it is something that takes time. Given specific circumstances, I would consider that rapists deserve a more severe penalty than some murderers.

As far as consequences to the victim, though, murder is worse because it's THE END, no more chances. Rape is horrible, but there is at least a chance to keep living.

Ok so here's how I see it.

Murder.
Your dead. Your stories over.

Rape.
You suffered a traumatizing, life altering experience. But your still alive.

A rape victim can still get over being raped and go on about living a normal life. You can get counseling to help you. I know a few rape victims that are living just fine. I doubt they've completely gotten over it, but they've recovered enough to go on living their lives.

Granted, some people can be driven to kill themselves, but this point become mute because people usually commit suicide for HUNDREDS of other reasons. Not to mention that there are ALOT more rape victims who move on with their lives.

The fact that you still have the opportunity to get over it is reason enough to make murder worse. You can't get over being murdered. You can't get counseling once your dead.

I voted Muder being the worst rather than rape. However, both being murdered and/or being raped are irreversible afflictions. I wouldn't be able to shake the fear of being murdered over being raped, but that's a psychological issue. I usually dislike dealing with absolutes like this.

someone has prolly said this already but...

rape is a horrible crime. it changes someones life forevere, and is a violent intrution into the most private part of someone, both physically and emotionally. just the fact that people can find twisted reasons to justify their actions is, well, wrong!

but, i still voted murder. if you are raped, you still have a chance to continue on with your life, however much you are traumatized. murder is the end to your life.

because when your raped it will be your nightmare forever and it will torture your mind and feelings...and perhaps maybe in the near future it will also cause you to inflict the pain on somebody else because of your desire for revenge or something of that sort...

as for murder...if you die...you die with your hands clean...you will never feel anything cause your dead... 😐 😐

I think that rape is worse. If you are murdered, that's it..But if you get raped, that is something that will stay for you for the rest of your life. A person that had that experience will have a trauma, and it will affect feelings, thoughts and even interaction with other people.

I think murder is worse.

its true that some people get raped and wish they would die afterwards, but thats only because no one really knows what comes after death. when you are murdered, its over. you dont have a chance for a better life or anything, its just over. i think having someone steal the rest of your life from you is terrible.

Rape is basically a form of torture.
Depending on how long the abuse lasts it might be better to be dead. In some extreme cases of torture, the alternative of being dead and not in pain is preferable.

Death is a welcome alternative to such an experience.
That being said if a victim is just forced into sex for one night, then the rape isn't as horrible as death. But being abused and confined for 24 years repeatedly is worse than any hell awaiting you after death. So basically it really depends on the situation.

rape is clearly worse casue it will leave loads of mental scars unless u are a series masochistic hore wereas normal murder is gona be scary but it wont last long and i see death as not waking up from sleep but rape could drive a person to sucide put them in a mental instute and they will NEVER FULLY GET OVER IT

I always considered death the most harmless deed if you want to hurt a person badly. So no matter what goes vs death, it wins.
(I had some very pleasant and interesting dreams with me as dead)

Which is worst?

Just recall back the Nanking massacre during the Second world war. Women are brutally raped and killed. Those who were killed also had suffered so much before they died.

Cruelty is what's WORSE than rape and murder.
People can be murdered in cold blood and violated. Both are wrong.

You people have so many different opnions! It's interesting to see. IMO, murder is way worse. Don't matter what happens to someone, he/she can overcome it, or at least do other things. For murder, that's nothing to do, and you can't overcome it.
