I've read a handful of yaoi but I already seem to favor it over shoujo. But I still prefer shounen-ai over both. O_O

Ohh, why? I used to read more shoujos (not a lot though) but the cliches really frustrated me. Over time I grew tired of noticing the same traits in the female leads, and the lack of emotions in the development of the relationships between characters. Although some yaois tend to contain the same traits, I can honestly say the greater yaois I've read are a lot better than most shoujos out there.

But to be fair shoujo did lead me to BL. xD
Not sure if that explains why, but that is how I feel. O_O

I prefer neither actually. I don't read much shoujo. And compared with members who have hundreds of yaoi titles on their list, I also read very little yaoi. 😮

IMO, lots of yaoi have bad art too.

I still like both pretty equally.

Shoujo, just a bit though.

I like my shoujo light and fluffy but I prefer a bit of drama in yaoi. I like comedy more than drama... so shoujo? I'm not really basing my preference on the demographics itself... don't know if that makes sense? >__<

I hate Shoujo, the plot line and art is irritating me the most but I have to confess: one year ago I was so into Shoujo stuff that I had tons of this genre in my collection but after I got to read my first Yaoi, I never was tempted to try Shoujo again. 😁

however, still a good Shoujo with a powerful, determined heroine who doesn't fall in love with every guy who passes across her way, can make me to read it at least for once. ahhh, the temptation... 😛

I rarely read Shoujo. When I first discovered shoujo, I found that a lot of it was full of too many cliches.

Yaoi? Oh, I used to read a lot of it. Now? Not so much anymore. But yes, I read more of it than shoujo.

The artwork in either genre isn't that big of a factor.

I prefer yaoi in general, simply for more maturity and unique artwork (I get really irritated by the googly eyes thing). And I prefer josei over shoujo too.

But I'll take a really good shoujo over a generic yaoi.

I love both. But when it comes to romance, I prefer bl. I'm not fan of romance focused shoujo.

In most cases, I prefer yaoi to shoujo.
But it's not really an eqaul comparison.
More like shounen-ai and shoujo, or yaoi and smut.

Yeah. 😃 I like shojo for the plots, which a lot of yaoi seems to miss out in favour of sex. >:-( But I like the boyxboy stuff... therefore I think I prefer yaoi... slightly more.

For me, shonen-ai is my favourite as it has the perfect combination of story and romance. 🙂

i started reading manga so i could read alot of love stories= alot of shojo
i wasnt interested in any other genre ...
as long as there was a girl and a guy in love , aaahh~ perfect
but in shojo, tsk, its so normal to find stupid girls, crybabies.

is not like in yaoi u wont find any(girly uke)... but for me is more acceptable if its 2 guys..
i think this happens bcz im a girl and seeing another girl being so stupid just for a guy pisses me off.

so yeah i voted for the first option
i still like shojo though~
