I'd say either complex plots or Believable characters.
Believable characters as in in their action depending on their world not ours. I find Guts (Berserk) to be a believable character. It's more than clear what's driving him, and I know I would have felt the same in his place. I found your random character from a romance manga to be less believable... Why, just why? do they always always have to make the wrong choice? And I mean it's always so obvious it would have ended the wrong way... And what's worst, is that in the end that character gets the hot chick / cool guy(in shoujo) even though he was so Idiotic...
That kills me... I hate to see losers rise. (Probably the opposite of most of the people)
Well if they learn and evolve, it's ok but it's when they stay the same till the end that it kills me.
(A good example of a loser wich became cool would be Kurono (Gantz) )

        More bishies? or better said. Even more bishies? Since Yaoi, Shonen Ai, Shoujo are all full of them already, that would have to start migrating towards different grounds.

More than one of the above, not all, but some really do need improvement.

Believable characters~ So many characters have no goal in manga, even their story doesn't seem theirs anymore. XD But all that blame goes to the mangaka, and maybe my expectations.
Fight scenes~ SHOUNEN! I tried reading some again, but all the scene seem like recycle versions of other shounens, or worst: Recycle version of an older work from the same mangaka. .__.
Love triangles~ I've just seen too many...in ALL genres. Give me something believable or original...
Bishies~ Can there even be improvement in bishies? Their goal is only one: To look and act like a bishie. XD
Hot chicks~ Same as the above...just add a bit of character.
Political commentary~ Bah! I prefer to have my manga and politics separated. Show me something I can argue/agree with and maybe~

I'd like more believable characters as well as complex plots. I've only read a few with those traits, there needs to be more.
