Shinobi make for great manga and anime but ninja were never to be confused with the vastly superior Samurai.

Ninja weren't known for fighting directly. They fought only when they had to, and it would usually be for assassination or to escape. They used techniques that allowed them to jump higher, run quietly, and if confronted disorient their opponents to allow them to kill or to escape.

Samurai fought head on, all out. The best samurai could take on whole troops by themselves.

In this manga, the ninja techniques are grossly over-exaggerated. It also seems that only ninja know how to use chakra, which (if true) is a very poor concept.

I just hope samurai have some special chakra techniques that ninja's can't do. If not that, then they need to have super taijutsu... or something. They just need not be pushovers.
