Humans grow through expiriences, and the more painful th expirience the more they grow. Morals and laws are created to avoid things that happened in the past, therefore if Hitler didn't exist there will be no chance to learn from his mistakes and someone else would have appeared with his ideals. Maybe later, maybe in a different place under different circumstances but things similar to the events from WWII would have happened. Only after that shock would people realize that this is wrong and reform their society to counter the possiblity of a second Whatever-his-name-is-Hitler-alike. There is no point in messing in the past even if it was possible. Especially for big events. Unless it was something that might save the world as a whole. Worst case scenario Hitler's replacement will be born in our generation and you will have to expirience that hell for yourself. Not to mention that with the advancement of technology the weapons will be more destructive and more people will die. And what is tested on the Japanese in the end of the WWII might be something worse than a nuke. Might not be the Japanese, might be some other country. Might be more than one.

if i could go back in time and kill hitler, does that mean after i can stay there? i could become the next hitler, without the killing of course ^^ well based on stuff at least I'D kill randomly : D

Don't mess with time. Ever. There would probably be a backlash to come right back at you. (i.e. Trying to prevent something from happening, and if you succeed, you could lose something/one important to you.) Or something like that.

Example 1:

This guys loses his wife in a car accident, so he builds a time machine, when it finally works, he ends up too far back when there were pterodycals (augh..sp?) flying.
And he never gets to her until the last song, when he finally meets with her again, he realizes her death is inevitable they both end up dying in the car crash, because he doesn't want to leave her.
Not to mention Save Our City -> It's his present time that's been invaded by zombies, which could be an aftermath of him going back in time to try and change it. Or at least I've heard it deals with his present time.

Example 2:

Not to mention Pushing Daises, I apologize for getting off topic a little, but anyways - when the main character touches something dead, it comes back to life - but if the revived dead stays revived for too long, something else will die to take it's place. Like when he [as a kid] revived his mother, and his love interest's father died instead. Although that doesn't deal with traveling in time or anything, but it does deal with time in a certain way - the length/time of someone's life.

Example 3:

Also, in Doctor Who, the blonde-chick (forgot her name) wants to go back to the day of her father's death because he died alone. She ends up saving his life, and due to this, other people have been victimed to die instead, so her father ends up submitting to his fate to stop it. Not to mention that she got close to her newborn self and created a paradox.

Anyways, even if Hitler did get killed before/after he became an evil dictator, there will always be someone more evil to take his place.
So the things written in history are inevitable, not to mention someone more evil than him could take his place and could have done not only what Hitler has done, but worse. Hitler once said that superior beings are those who have Blonde Hair and Blue Eyes, he could've decimated anyone who didn't fit that criteria (even though I don't think he did himself).

Anyway, yeah, even if you are tempted to fiddle with time, don't do it. You could end up really regretting it.

I read enough books, mangas, comics, play enough video games and watch enough Sci Fi TV shows to know not to mess with TIME. Just by going back in time already alter the time stream and create time paradox or alter universe.
