My local library (the one in near my house in Richmond Hill) also has a small "graphic novels" section, It has most of the volumes of Hot Gimmick, Death Note, NANA, One Piece, but like many said, not too much of it. 😐
I read so much mangas, I'm too lazy to watch anime! 😛 😛 😛

I was curious, how does your library sort the manga? (Normally non-fiction books are shelved alphabetically by the first few letters of the author's last name.) Mine sorts "graphic novels" by title, so it goes like, Azumanga, Beyblade, Black Cat, Bleach, Chibi Vampire, etc.... on to Yotsuba. Even though Azumanga and Yotsuba are by the same guy... 🤨

Haven't checked my library lately (they were building on their graphic novel selection, until people started stealing them all... >:-( ) but every English-language bookstore I've checked has sorted manga by title. I have a hunch that sorting this way may be at least partly due to the difficulty the average English-speaker has in telling which Japanese name is the given (first) name, and which is the family (last) name, but I could be totally wrong.
"[English] not only borrows words from other languages; it has on occasion chased other languages down dark alley-ways, clubbed them unconscious and rifled their pockets for new vocabulary."

That was my theory too.
