The library in my old town (as of 1 week ago) had a small section with a couple manga volumes, like sailor moon, fruits basket, and peach girl, but not many. My new town does not have anything in their dinky library. they dont even hsve Pride and Prejudice, much less and manga.

I've been into manga for quite a while but manga on the computer is a pretty recent thing for me (about a year and a half). Before I found out about manga on the computer, I used to go to the library to read manga all the time. 😀

My library has a small section in the kid's section and another in the teen section, however the selection has improved over the years (there use to be like only Fushigi Yuugi). There's Whistle!, Bleach, Naruto, Shojo Beat, Shonen Jump, Miracle Girls, Yotsuba&!, Cantarella, Fruits Basket, Sakura Ganbaru!, Shugo Chara, Angelic Layer, Chobits, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Hikaru no Go, Astroboy, Slam Dunk, Ah! My Goddess, Trigun, Death Note, a few other titles that I can't remember, some cine-manga, and some american comics.

I picked up my first manga in the library when i was a kid, in fact...
Anyway, there's a pretty big graphic novels section in my local library but not exactly shelves and shelves... 🙂
They have quite a few complete series.... like Kodocha, Chobits, Marmalade Boy, Kare Kano, Hikaru No Go, Dear Boys, e.t.c. And alot of series they didn't buy finish like Rave Master, Furuba, Death Note, Demon Eyes Kyo, Slam Dunk e.t.c.
But they have more mangas in chinese than english, which sucks cuz my chinese isn't really good.
Surprisingly, I have yet to see Bleach or Naruto in the library.

Library use to be my main source 'till I found could get on the Internet. Easy access, can keep forever, more series and it comes out faster. Internet is the way to go.

Well, most of the time, the library is only for assignments and stuff so I rarely look for manga in the library (yay for internet!). 😀
From what I've seen though, my school library doesn't have any and the local library, small as it is, surprisingly has about 10 volumes of HanaKimi, a lot from One Piece, some from Bleach, Naruto, Basilisk, Rurouni Kenshin and a few other bits and pieces from different series.
They're all randomly put in the Young Adult Fiction though, but I reckon they deserve a shelf for themselves. 😃

I used to visit the local library once, but since they moved to another, further location it became a drag going there...~
Also, I buy the books I read (and I'm running out of place to put them)..

So, to the point, this library doesn't have any manga...
I don't think there's even a library that does... Shame though.

The newer library here only has a few titles. Rurouni Kenshin, DBZ, Ouran, and some others.

You have to look to find them, though. Some are hidden within the Fiction section even though they have a dedicated Graphic Novels section. :/ Kind of weird.

Last I checked at my smaller, more local library (quite awhile ago), they just had a dinky shelf full. Kind of doubt it's any different now.

The only kind of Books in any Library in this part of the world (Taken across hundreds of square kilometers) is just some heavy duty text books and research material on all Science, Commerce and Humanities based subjects here.

No Cookies to eat here... T_T 🤢

Few "graphic novels" with the most popular ones that are way behind schedule. The librarians and lots of other people there look down upon people reading them, saying that it's poison. I got a response of "Your mother lets you read that?"

"Yeah, I read lots of different things. It's actually better than it looks." And that's coming from someone (me) who used to work at the library.

What I really wanted to say to her was "Of course! My mother read those too!" Gar. Some people will never understand.

there's about a fourth of the (tiny) 'young adult' section devoted to comics. the problem is that being 20 I feel increasingly awkward going in there and intimidating all the middle schoolers who normally make use of the room. So it's a good thing I never go in there anymore. I am very thankful it exists of I may never have stolen volume one of Chobits from my sister and gotten in to this whole manga scene.

I also recently found out that they keep Love Hina downstairs in the 'Adult' section. I felt obligated to sit down and read a volume or two.

my computer is my only hope for manga to be honest..
my library has a really crappy graphic novel's section that has like 3 series in it and thats it...and they are really the lame or overly popular mangas...like bleach, tsubasa chronicles, and kekkaishi..
don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with these mangas, in fact i read tsubasa myself, but they don't even update them at my library!

actually my library sucks for any kind of books in general..
lol

😀 😢

Well, that's only happend in my place ^^ where people still think that manga is only for kid T_T
I do go to my local library a lot and never found manga there. I really suprise to read some post here that their scholl library have some collection of manga. Great!!

What is this "library" you speak of? 🤣
....No really 😐
The Melbourne state library probably has a section....maybe >.> It's so effing huge I dont really dare go into the "books" section. I only visit the chess floor (the floor's dedicated to chess. It has a few tables and shelves of chess books...pretty awesome) and the multimedia room (computer games!) Even if it did though...I doubt many go there >.> They're all at Borders...reading for free and bending the sides for those who want to buy them >.<

My area has two public librarys and both are very well stocked. Also if we want any new manga all you have to do is send in a request and most likely they'll get it. I'm at the library all the time, and yes I've read at least 15 novelsvin the last month.
