On average, do you tend to skip anime opening/ending themes?

I only skip openings
I only skips endings
I watch both
I skip both
I don't watch anime

________________

I only tend to rate/comment on series that are either really good or really bad, unless I'm bored.
I'm stating this so that you know: I am not one of those people who always rates things ten or one, ignoring all numbers inbetween. Therefore, in that aspect, my ratings are trustworthy. ^^

◌็How much do you understand Japanese?

  • Why do you think I come to this website?
  • A little bit of this and that
  • Somewhat if there isn't too many Kanji
  • I can understand overall but need translation to be sure
  • I don't need this website anymore
  • Wha? Manga is from Japan?

Adding two more options to this suggestion ...

  • I watch it once then skip the openings/endings
  • I watch it until it get gets tiring.

What is your favourite type of narrative you have read/would like to see in a manga?

  • Each individual chapters with its own stand-alone story.
  • Overall story divided by arcs.
  • Straight-forward linear story-line.
  • Non-linear story-line. (Pulp Fiction-esque)
  • Series of short stories (few chapters) occurring in the same world.
  • Story going back and forth in specific points in time. (20th Century Boys)

A group has been scanlating one of your favorite manga for a while now. One day a new group decides to scanlate that same series. What do you do?
-Read the old group's version
-Read the new group's version
-Read both versions
-Read the faster version
-Read the higher quality version

What sort of humour do you think you develop most after reading manga (or watching anime)?

  • Awkward (no one understands you or they misunderstand)
  • Serious/Dark (topics are wayyy too serious)
  • Cute (...not really funny, but at least they think you're cute)
  • Fake (pretending to be funny)
  • Deadp ...

What sexist trope in manga bothers you the most?

  • the always patronizing "but you're a girl!"
  • objectification
  • falling in love with their rapist (without serious consideration of what stockholm syndrome actually entails)
  • harassment being ok because she's just "playing hard to get"
  • "All women..."
  • sexual assault and/or rape being portrayed as a joke
  • damsel in distress with no agency
  • girl solely exists to be the love interest of the main male lead
  • troop of overly jealous/vain/cruel fangirls who exist solely to bully others
  • madonna/whore dichotomy
  • what? sexism still exists?

  • Yes, for the manga.
  • Yes, for the food/drinks.

  • Not interested in karaoke./Can't sing./Not available near you.

  • No character development.
  • Plot veers off into a direction you don't like.

If you were a manga translator and you realize you've mistranslated the kanji of a major character's name, how would you correct it?
-Re-do all the chapters with that name in it
-Add a correction notice on the next chapter and start using the correct kanji reading from there on
-Start using the proper name, but act as if nothing happened
-Try to hide my mistake and keep using my version of the name for as long as I can

If you were a manga translator and you've spelled the romaji of a character's name a certain way, but much later you find that the official artwork/merchandise spells it a different way, what would you do?
-Start using the official spelling
-Keep using my version of the spelling
-Use whichever version the fans are more comfortable with

Have you ever read manga in any language other than English & Japanese?
-Yes, I prefer to read manga in my native language which happens to be not English/Japanese
-Yes, I prefer to read manga in a non-native language which happens to be not English/Japanese
-Yes, I have read manga in a different language before, but I prefer to read it in English/Japanese
-No, I only read manga in English/Japanese, although I am capable of reading in another language
-No, I can only read manga in English/Japanese because I do not know any other language

Where do you prefer TL notes?
-Directly on the page's margins
-On a separate page after the last page
-I would prefer no TL notes at all

If you could magically change your primary language to Japanese right now would you do it?
-Are you for real? DEAL!!!
-Maybe. It depends (leave a comment explaining why)
-I already know Japanese but it wasn't my first language (you can choose another language)
-It sounds cool, but no thanks
-No way. Not even for $1,000,000
-My first language is Japanese and i'd want to know (Comment what language) instead.
-My first language is Japanese and i wouldn't want a different language
