Mmm... but didn't he also beat two captains with their bankai? I'll list an order when I catch up enough, since I'm a bit behind right now.

I think my list would go something like

1. Urahara
2. Aizen
   3.Yamato
3. Yourichi
4. Isshin

I just have to put Urahara, Isshin and Yoruichi in there because if they weren't incredibly strong they wouldn't live outside the Soul Society A) they wouldn't have had the power to leave and B) the other captains would've stopped them.

I just have to put that though it may be unpopular to say so Ichigo is going to end up as the strongest out of all of them just by the mere fact that he is the main protagonist. Not right now however he's still "gaining experience" that and he's never officially been a Captain 😀

Hi there!! Now here is one post i totally agreed with on both points.

I agreed that Isshin, Urahara and Yoruichi should be one of the strongest since they left SS and defy SS by living in the human world

I was really wondering why Yourichi was not yet mentioned, maybe because she's a female but I really believed that she's one of the strongest considering she have 100 years of not practicing her skills but she still managed to fight and display her awesome powers and skills

And I also believe that Ichigo given the proper training and experience would be the strongest of them all. He have it in him, he just needs to nurture that skills and power within.

The next two probably would be Aizen and Byakuya. Well you know all why aizen is one of the strongest.

I would also actually say Hitsugaya since he is still a child when he became a captain and surpassed Hinamori. However if he is one of the strongest at this point probably not, but he will be, just like with Ichigo.

I don't really agree.. but everyone has his own opinions.. 🙂 And I know that Yoruichi and Isshin are strong.. But my top 5 can beat Yoruichi, maybe for the exception of Gin.. And I haven't really seen anything of Isshin's power.. So I can't really compare him to other captains..

Well considering that is where Ichigo's original power is stemming from, he has to be pretty strong. I'm not saying that's where all his abilities come from, but it probably had some influence on the size of his power at the beginning.

I know what you mean, and I definitely know that Isshin is one of the big players.. but I haven't seen him really demonstrate his power yet.. So, I can't really compare him to other captains who are in the same league as him.. eg; Urahara, Aizen..

the only binding that i've seen rukia do is single digit. and then she pulls off a level 63 hado? i would say that kido is kido whether its offensive or defensive.

Now that I think about it, it hasn't even been confirmed that Isshin is a captain.. So I don't know why some of you put him in your list.. 😛

Yes she was. At least it was intimated that Soifon took over her position after she left the soul society. If you want to get technical about it I don't think any of the three, Urahara, Yiruichi, and Isshin, have been expressly called former captains, we know Urahara used to be the head of the research department for the SS, and Yoruichi the head of the intelligence. Isshin is definitely the vaguest with only the one little comment in the fight with King Fisher, but I'm pretty sure all three were former captains.

NM the stuff about Urahara, just remembered Yoruichi said he was the 12th's captain when she was explaining stuff to Ichigo. But the fact that she knew the secondary way to acquire Bankai and was able to apply it to Ichigo screams that she has a bankai, and maybe even used the same means of attaining it. While bankai is not an thing exclusive to captains, like Abarai and Ikkaku, they seem to be the exception rather than the rule.

Yoruichi was never a captain, trust me.. Look again at the episode of where Yoruichi and Byakuya meet.. Byakuya will then say her previous positions.. And being a captain isn't one of them.. It's just one of those details that no one ever pays attention to..

I would place Yamamoto above Zaraki.. 🤣 And I don't get why Shunsui and Ukitake are so underestimated.. >:-( You do realize that they're the two strongest captains of SS, besides Yamamoto..

I can't believe it, that none of you had mentioned Unohana. Even Aizen hasn't tried to fight her, as Unohana found about Aizen's betrayal. About Isshin, we all know that he was a former captain right, at least just understood what he said about the zankpatou size and captain's level? Even Urahara had some respect as they met again ( I believe, they know each other).
Whatever, my list:
Yamamoto (somehow I don't like him, an old man with muscles, yikes *giggles)
Urahara ( he's really strong and he's smart, hot guy with brain 🙂 ---- but he's former cap 🙁
Isshin (first time I saw him fighting without sweating, just wow.....! And his behaviour is so... well.... as if he's dumb but he just hides his truly power, so suspicious)--- I believe he's also a former cap
Unohana
Kenpachi ( ah... I just like this guy, and he's already so strong without bankai)
Ah well, my list is not right, but...... 😮

Hmm, I have my doubts about Unohana in the top 5, but the rest is good for me.. 😃
