Is there any romance for those of you who actually read beyond in Kekkaishi?

Well, it's shounen style romance, meaning it doesn't develop that much.

It's quite clear Yoshimori likes Tokine, but if she likes him too is a mistery

yoshimori probably gets in a tangle with that girl in his class who can see spirits!

Well... the only romance i would expect in this series,
is a hug/kiss at the end or something, like most of it`s kind
do. (bleach,naruto,flame of recca,yuu yuu hakusho,etc..)

I think there are hints of budding romance in Kekkaishi

she was really upset when yoshimori purposely lets himself captured by the Kokuburou and she got jealous when a girl confessed that she likes yoshimori

Tokine does well to hide her feelings but the mangas hinted and or shown signs that she does, but it's shounen so it develops little by little from the girls side.

Tokine likes him very much... but like an elder sister would like her brother. She never really viewed him as a man, and only for a moment in chapter xxx (I don't remember), she imagened how he would look like older. But that was it, she doesn't really have any kind of romantic feelings for him.
I'm not even shure about Yoshi. His is more like puppy love...but oh well, he's pretty innocent after all. And as it is, there isn't much of a romance, so maybe we have to wait until Yoshi get's into high school...he's in his 3rd year of middle school and tokine in her 2nd highschool year... so that year will be the only one were they go together in the same school (building XD&quot 😉 , so maybe there they'll get some private time (which they haven't had for a while, since it is always Kekkashi Business related).

chapter 216-218 has nice moments about how our dearest Yoshi couldnt imagine a world without Tokine, 218 is especially scrumptious where the new character seaweed prince tries to convince Tokine that that shortie is her prince charming :D ..and Yoshi almost confessing to her ...and finally she smiles when he is referred to as a prince who can free her

There is a bit between Yoshi a Tokine lately, but I think that there won't be much development, at the end maybe they end up together...we have to wait and see...

it exists, but very slowly developing
one of those mangas where after the series ends and you find the happy little epilogue chapter showing them married or something, with no stereotypical shoujo relationship problems.

It's just slow developing like many have said, but I think we'll get more at key parts once we're closer to the end of the series. But I don't think that's anytime soon.

My guess is this will be 33 volumes at the least, so we have a good chunk more to go.

Well Yoshi definitely loves Tokine and Tokine even though many have said here that she loves him as a younger brother is not entirely right as I personally think that she treats him as a childhood friend. However other characters in the manga always mistakes Tokine for Yoshi's big sister and even the mangaka said he settled on drawig Toikine this way, in order to make her look a bit like an older sister. So I think the mangaka will just keep her as a big sister but I seriously hope they get together at the end bcoz afterall 2 years isn't that big an age gap to become a couple. But for that to happen Tokine has to start seeing Yoshi as a man and I dunno when that will happen. So Yoshi needs a miracle to make her fall in love with him otherwise his bigbro is gonna steal Tokine from right undr his nose as she seems to like the bro alot and views him as a man. Tokine herself admitted to herself that He really is kinda like a little brother in the chapter where a girl mistes her for Yoshi's big sister. So unless Tokine stops seeing him like that ther's no hope for Yoshi.Also does anyone else thinks that Tokine is starting to have a thing for Sen? Sen calls her short-skirts and gropes her but she doesn't seem to mind that much

Even that Legitimate heir of the Ougi family seems to be attracted to her and asked her out.

Actually lately in the later chapters its quite obvious that they both like each other romantically. Tokine talks with that guy how Yoshi is her prince etc. Its just that Tokine's feelings are suppressed and hidden from Yoshi she probably doesn't think anything can develop due to reasons like their families are rivals, and that they have a more important priority then love: Karasumuri w/e.

I'm reading the manga and i'm at vol 8, I would like to know are there other
potential couple other than Yoshi and Tokine?
