Fate of Lelouch

Oh hell just watched R2 in a rumba, and I didn't think that Lelouch could have the code since he didn't have any mark (though I remember him wearing the cap and when he fell his hair blocked his forehead, now that I think about that too), but I didn't understand Nunnally getting L's memories either, but now that I think about it that would make a lot of sense and would fit with Lelouch's style of doing things, always lying to people 🙂 . I mean when "code havers" are "wounded" they do splurt blood in a flashy way like we saw Emperor do when he was hit with bullets (and with the other scenes with C.C. and V.V.), and he could in fact pull this off completely fine while having code and thus living. The major flashy sword stab with half of his chest exploding would be more than convincing, since nobody could survive that kind of attack if you think what that kind of round stabbing sword would do to a person in real life.
Now that I believe this to be the "truth" too, I can't even think of any other way than Lelouch living. From quick thinking I can't think of anything that would be proof against this.
Also with the god scene, I dunno is there some discussion of that, but I believe there to be some kind of people like Emperor wished to be, but instead of changing things and messing around, they/him are like C.C. bored of everything and almost wanting to die, they know their responsibility and just exist, since only new gods could kill the old gods and new gods would ruin the world ---
random GunxSword spoiler --->
(if somebody doesn't like superior beings, you could say that this is another Prison Planet like in GunxSword and the supreme beings are just guardians and the whole code thing is just a guardian system).
And so when Lelouch contacts them, they awake from their eternal slumber and stop the Emperor's evil shit. Sooo they could also give the Emperor's code to Lelouch if people don't believe the Emperor could give the code to Lelouch. 😛
Ohh yeah watched the last minutes again and they show very clearly that Lelouch is the wagon driver, he looks skinny and has similar anime jawline, and the hat just happens to block the full view from afar, then with the close-up the camera just happens to avoid filming the driver's face, and when C.C. says "right, lelouch" she looks right at the driver, she's on her back and looks upwards where the driver is.
I mean that is pretty damn clear.

With the whole Lelouch Alive vs. Dead thing, I say Lelouch is alive.
Taken from:
http://animeotaku.animeblogger.net/2008/09/code-geass-r2-25-so-is-lelouch-dead-or-not/
The most obvious reason would be CC calling to Lelouch in the closing scene of the episode. As we can assume CC to be still sane, she must be talking to someone, and that someone would most probably be the driver of the cart: Lelouch would have to be alive.
Second, however, and this is where the others have thought things through, Lelouch is alive because he got his dad’s code. He beckoned the World of C to lend him its powers, and he took Charles’s code before Charles passed on. The reason why Lelouch still has his Geass is because he didn’t take the Code from the same person who gave him his Geass: he took his Geass from CC, and he took his Code from Charles. Thus, he now possesses both immortality and a Geass. This is also a reason that the title is Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.
To further corroborate this, however, remember that when Nunnally held Lelouch’s hand he transferred his memories to her. CC also did it when Lelouch touched her accidentally back then, so it could be assumed that people with Codes are indeliberate telepaths. This leaves us with both immortals traversing the world for the rest of eternity.
It’s a great end, friends.
P.S. Ending line of CC translated by bibi: “Geass is the power of kings, it will isolate you… well, I guess thats a little wrong… eh, Lelouch”
P.P.S. Additional evidence, courtesy of `Nergal and 4chan:
- Charles grabbed Lelouch with his right hand, which had the Geass sigil.
- Lelouch needed the fully evolved Geass to transfer a code.
- The code doesn’t appear to activate until someone dies. Hence, why C.C. was wounded when she first inherited her code. Same happened with Charles in the World of C.
- When Lelouch touched Nunnally, Nunnally got a flash of his memories. This ONLY happens when a high potential Geass user touches someone with the fully evolved Geass.
- The title of the series is “R2″, which is similar to how “C.C” is pronounced. So Lelouch would be “R.R.” which is Engrish (I presume) for L.L., Lelouch Lamprouge.
- When C.C. is talking on the wagon, she says “the power of Geass brings loneliness…that’s not quite right is it, Lelouch?” and nods her head in the direction of the wagon driver.
P.P.P.S More evidence, courtesy of an intelligent anon from 4chan:
Orange knew of Lelouche’s and Suzaku’s plan and helped them out by ordering his men not to fire on Zero, he even smiled when Zerozaku jumped on his shoulder.
Now would Orange, a man who devoted himself entirely to Lelouche and threw away everything without a second thought be OK with a plan where the sole person he wants to protect in life is actually killed? The answer to that is NO, not even if Lelouche ordered him to accept the plan: he would not go along with it and would protect him with his life. There is only one way that Orange would be OK with a plan like that and thats if he knew about Lelouche’s immortality, which I assume he did as he worked with V.V. in the Geass research base. Orange was OK with this plan as he knew Lelouche would come to no harm and would be able to start a new peaceful life with the woman he loves in a world which he himself had made peaceful.
Even at the end, we see Orange on his orange plantation, completely content with the way things have panned out, he definitely could not be that happy had Lelouche actually died.
There it is, firm evidence of Lelouche’s immortality if the scene with C.C. and the cart driver wasn’t painfully obvious enough.
Long live Lelouch Vi Brittania!

Alright, I'm intending to close the argument here with a very clear statement:
Believe whatever you want or interpreted from the ending. Seriously, the staff has all universally avoided using any form of the words "dead", "killed", "alive", "living" or anything else that could be construed in that manner. Regardless of whatever Okouchi and Taniguchi have in mind (heck, they might even have opposing opinions on the matter), the ambiguous ending was clearly intentional, and they've done nothing but fuel the debate in order to raise interest and I assume heighten DVD and product sales. There really isn't much of anything left to discuss that we haven't been over 18 dozen times in the thread already, Taniguchi's said he "wants everyone to decide what the ending means themselves", so we should just do that (and yes, he really says ending and not epilogue, for those following the continual flame wars -_-;; ) .
Clear enough? At the very least I probably won't be replying to this thread anymore, unless Taniguchi and Okouchi specifically decide to declare him as dead or alive, which will never happen, and we all know it.

weather Lelouch is dead or alive is not known and there is no way it will be clear because of the way the anime ended...its a peaceful time now and there is no reason for Lelouch to come bak(if he is alive) or to hav a 3rd season because its peaceful time.
also if he is alive than he is the driver or he is inside CC's head. or his dead but b4 dieing he used the same powers his mother had and travel to some1 elses mind. thts my thought...and im stickin to it 🙂

Yeah, we actually agreed on that way back on page five >_>.
Gah. Why is it that whenever I attempt to leave a thread to its own devices, I inevitably come back?

I don't care what the fecking official guidebook or the creator says.
My hero's alive and kicking!
If the creator really intended for Lelouch to die, then why put in subtle hints throughout the whole thing?
So it states that he's "officially" dead in the guidebook, but then again, don't people who want to "disappear" from the world would usually want themselves to be considered "officially" dead? 😛

if the creator says so then it's really case closed. you can't really argue about the fate of the characters with the creator. it's his story and his world, he's pretty much the story's god, so his word is pretty much law. but you have all the right in the world to keep him alive in your heart.
as for the hints part, all i can say is that they were included for this type of heated discussion to keep the series alive even after it's end. and in a way it really worked too, considering how much effort was put into proving he really was alive. just shows how truly strong a following the series had.

It's seems that no one really GOT the very trick of the of the show...Also, the creator...will never ever tell the truth! ...I don't believe those official stuff
Did anyone got an idea that Lelouch also casts his Geass to us?...ordering only to view his death!? ...didn't you all noticed that he already using his Geass in the very beginning whenever you watched the opening song?
That is the reason why they made the concept of the story!
He made us believed that he truly died because of his GEASS!
For me, I really believed that he got Charles code because it's so obvious! and it was located right on his neck!
Also, I never saw any right answer of what is the real name of C.C., it's practically common sense, her real name is "CODE GEASS"...Lelouch: Kodo gias on episode 11
And, people have no choice but to admit that he's alive or else, they themselves proved that they have been played by his Geass tricks...
