Remembering members

Just another poll by me^^
A few days ago I changed my avatar, and wondered whether ot not people will get confused over who I was.
I'm asking this because it happened to me quite a lot.
Like when someone changes his/her avatar I sometimes don't "recognize" who this member is.
I usualy remember by avatar (Although I do remember some by thier nickname as well..).
How do you remember the members? (damn, this phrase is annoying>.<)
😁
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

I voted by both, but I tend to pay more attention to avatars. I could tell it was you because the avatars are similar. I am obvious because I always have BECK or a black man with a guitar.

Both. I wouldn't recognize most members if they changed their avatars, but some I remember by nickname. Though that's members who "stand out" from my point of view.

By avatar until I managed to associated the username with it as well (usually takes reading a post or two that makes the person noteworthy). People change avatars all the time (I just did because Code Geass R2 started), and it's a pain to not recognize who they are just because the appearance changed.

NightSwan also said that she wanted to peg me, once, but I'm not sure whether to take that as a compliment or a threat...

That avatar is a little freaky. Was your last one from the same series?

I'm not sure which series you're asking about. The other ones I used were Koizumi from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (I think he was just talking and maybe smiling), and a different picture of Lelouch from Code Geass (the hair flip one).
I guess I'm just in a slightly more evil mood?

Yeah, I thought the last one was from Haruhi, though I wasn't sure.

I ID the people I don't see/interact with often by avi but I recognize friends no matter what avi they change to.

I remember them by both avatar and nickname. I usually recognize members by their avatar first then by their nickname if they stand out. There are members that I wouldn't recognize if they changed their avatar. Now when I change my avatar I usually switch it to an avatar I've used before, I rotate them. I don't know if that confuses people.

99% by avatar, changing it makes me really confused >.<''. But when I wonder who's the new guy I generally look at the nick too 🙂

It made me confused too, because being new, I just learned them by the avatar. It's not a big deal to expand the coding "and by nickname", I'm just saying it was easier to remember users by avatars, most of them are really good.

Actually I remember most people based on their sig, since images are more unique than letters, you can fit more and bigger images in your sig than your avatar and since I actually have to skim past sigs as I read posts.
Edit: as a side note to Crenshinibon, it's spelled Aleister.

Both by nickname and avatar, except when that whole FMA thing was going on, then I remembered them by nicknames!
