manga with 'forbidden relationships'

Recently I have noticed there seems to be quite a few posts with the content of 'forbidden relationships' on them. For instance, incest, teacher- student, yaoi and the like. I curious to know what people find appealing about them. For starters, I like shounen-ai, though I only read the ones with good plotlines. I'll also occasionally read ones like koi Kaze and Angel Sanctuary, also with the 'forbidden relationship' factor, but once again, they were such good stories and I only read manga with good stories.
anyway, I guess what I'm asking is what people like about them. Or it could be the other way, do you hate them? I'm curious to know peoples opinions. This is a touchy subject, so please... please don't flame other peoples opinions.

I guess what is technically defined as 'forbidden relationships' are ones that are frowned upon by society. In which case, student-teacher relationship falls into the category. Im not sure that answers your question but thats the best way I can interpret it.

To be honest, I don't see what's the problem with that, either. But, I guess teacher has the authority and power over students, so she/he may be abusing it by entering a relationship with pupil. Also, parents usually 'trust' the teachers to teach their children, not seduce them >.<

it goes both ways. student can ask for protection from the teacher.

Forbidden relationships are more fun, if the plot is good. 😃

"Forbidden" relationships have automatic conflict built in.
"[English] not only borrows words from other languages; it has on occasion chased other languages down dark alley-ways, clubbed them unconscious and rifled their pockets for new vocabulary."

You beat me to it. That's what makes it so interesting. The two are involved in something no one must know about. Most times they aren't sure about what they are doing and you just want to say, "go with them! Come on! You love them!"

Forbidden relationships are kinda exciting, because you want to ''know'' the end, but Hey.. you only live once.
