Ive never been to a convention but Im going to my first this summer...right before my birthday(Chiisaicon) and I might go to one after rmy birthday(Ikasucon or OMGcon). I really wanna go to Ikasucon because Travis Willingham(voice of Roy Mustang in FMA) usually goes.

I've been to a this big annual one Texas has each year. It's now become somewhat a "tradition" to go each year. I admit at first it's overwhelming for those who aren't really otakus but do enjoy anime from time to time. But for otakus it's heaven 🤣
Some people are really weird though...I mean creepy weird. There's a lot of glomping involved and outbursts of random sayings. Some cosplayers...should not wear revealing clothing for the sake of one's sanity haha but overall it's about having fun with other people who enjoy anime too although sometimes you do find yourself faking enthusiasm...
Lately Vic Mignona (Edward Elric's english voice actor) has been going often to A-kon so there's a bunch of fangirls. That's what's scary about cons...it's the fangirls. 🤣
What really does tick me off is the gamers in the gaming room. They're real snobby and cocky and claim they lost on purpose...they say that because I'm a girl 🙄

Once my friends and I went to a convention in Texas.... We dressed as the sailor scouts... I was Sailor Venus (so embarassing) It was interesting..... but fun! I don't know if I'd do it again... but we where collectively really bored, which usually isn't a good thing, in fact the last time it happened I ended up with a (satanic) cat...

I'm surprised that there aren't many people that go...
I've been going twice a year, every year since grade 8.
So this will be my 6th year?
OMG BEST part of Cons is the dealers room.
Sweet sweet manga at beautiful prices. BEAUTIFUL I TELL YOU! :@
Second best is going on pictochat and drawing penises.
Some of my friends that have been into it longer then me are throwing their own con this year and it is turning out to be quite the shindig. I'm just happy all my regular dealers will be there.
Sweet sweet manga. 😀
Nah I've never been to one.
I might go to one eventually though. I think I need to go and see at least one, just to get a feel of what it's like. I've always been interested.
It's just a hassle to get there.

Long post is long.
I've been going to cons for a while. This will be my 4th year since I started!
I like how they have tons of doujins, mangas, figurines, and wallscrolls/posters.
My first impression of cons was that it was slightly embarrassing. Second-hand embarrassment to be exact. There will be face-palm inducing people around. Maybe it's just me, but sometimes people will just do some ridiculous things because they're in their cosplay. I'm used to it now though XD heck, I bet I was one of them. >_>;

Agreed! Last time at a con, I happened to have cat ears on, and this 30 year old looking man brought out his chain and collar, and said, "Meow meow kitty cat, would you like to be fwends? (emphasis on the "w") I want to walk you :3" >_>
People also like to yell things at you if you cosplay as a certain character. And there are random glomps.. sometimes they request you to do some strange things...
The atmosphere at cons are very warm and welcoming (well, from my experience it is.) That's what I noticed. People will talk to you, people will hug you. Random conversations, and heck, you might even end up playing poker with them. It's because everyone shares a similar hobby. It's a few days of indulging in your "love." Then when it's over, you gotta go back to work or to your studies. =\

Somehow the quality of cons seems to be going down. Pricing for mundane things are going up, to con the newbies who don't know where to buy them outside the convention for a cheaper price, the quality of costumes has also gone down. I don't go nearly as often as I used to. Only when friends drag me.
