I am not a fan of Japanese food.

Although sometimes I think it looks good when it is drawn in the manga.

The only really japanese foods I'll eat are the ones with meat.

I do not like noodles or eggs or any of that. And rice is okay occasionally.

But then again, I am a picky eater.

Pocky is pretty good, but only the chocolate. The milk kind is really gross. 🤢

And I really like those E-Ma candies. But I guess those aren't really in manga, maybe.

Okonomyaki and Katsudon is about all I order from the Japanese restaurant outside my uni...An authentic Japanese chef and food costs only $1-$2

Let's see....
Pocky - i liked it before i watched anime/reading manga
Pretz
Ramen, udon, and alike
Nori
Sushi, sashimi and the like
Conbini bento
etc.

There's a Japanese-style convenience store near my place, and they sell various Japanese food ingredients, along with snacks, that's where I usually go when I want some of the food I mentioned above.

Hmm, I haven't had much Japanese food. I've had:
-sushi (of course)
-strawberry ice cream mochi (delicious but expensive)
-yakisoba
-teriyaki chicken
-green tea ice cream (delicious, but I like strawberry mochi a bit more)
-pocky and pretz (tastes like animal crackers...yum!)
-Ramune

I tried to make riceballs, but they're only okay. Oh, and I tried natto at school. shudders I hate that stuff so much...

I've been eating pocky even before I met anime/manga. But I guess thanks to manga and anime I find myself munching on various japanese snacks that I find at the Asian Market 😀

tsukemono.

I often find myself thinking I'd like too eat dangos but considering I don't like sweets very much I'll have to pass. But they look magical!

I can't say that I've taken to eating new food because of manga or anime. Ramen has been a semi-regular part of my diet for many years, mostly because it's cheap and satisfying. I eat rice two or three times a week, and it's a big favorite.

I'd like to try onigiri with various fillings. Dango look very tempting.

Quote from bedob

I tried some recipes from addicted to curry 🤣
Didn't go very well...except from the mushroom curry.

Are you sure they are even real? 🤣
Is the mangaka a chef or something?
I do remember reading those recipes
before I dropped it. Well, actually, before
I forgot to keep on reading it.

Yeah, I wasn't so sure myself, specially after that pumpkin curry 🤣

It would be suitable for today though...
