With this year's AE looming just around the corner, I just wanted to get a feel for who's going to Anime Expo this year.

As for me, My buddies and I may be representing Las Vegas this year... though only maybe.

I'm going for the first time. I don't really know what to expect or know events are going on. It would be nice if someone could tell me.

Second of all, I highly recommend you attend the AMV Contest and the Masquerade. Although...Masquerade may not be your kind of thing, but it's usually fun to watch still, haha. If you don't have tickets into the main events, you'll have to line up for seats. Do that HOURS before the actual event starts, because the lines are LONG. (At this point, I have no clue where you actually need to line up, since I've never been to the LA Convention Center before)

You know, it's both better and worse than that -_-;;.

I'm a vague maybe. I might drive down from SF if I decide it's worth the money, but college is expensive so it's probably a no.

I went the last two years, but not this time. I'm afraid of LA. 😔

omg, I wanted to go so bad this year! Since my grandparents are back from Japan I could have stayed with them (although my grandpa would probably look down on the otaku-ness of anime expo 🤣 ) ...but since gas is so high and such I don't really have the money to drive down from northern cali...meh...

Then my friend who would be the only one who would want to join me (the rest of my friends are either not anime friends or are anime fans that are scared of conventions) got a job so we can go to Japan next year so she also doesn't have enough money for such a trip

I'm not even going to get started on my mom 🤣 (she hates anime with a passion, but she is starting to accept that i'm probably never going to change)

Wish I could go! 😢

The last two years it was held in the Anaheim and Long Beach Convention Centers, respectively. As soon as 08's was announced for the LACC, the forums exploded with people saying it was in a "bad neighborhood" compared to Anaheim and Long Beach. Plus, if I went, I would be by myself.

I live in Canada too, the only convention I go/went to was Anime North for the past couple years. I live in the GTA so it's pretty close-by around an hour away.
