I am mostly afraid that when I die no one will care. Is that silly? I just don't consider myself to have many friends. If I were to die tomorrow I think only my mom, sister, and GF will be there to say good bye to me.
And my dog.
We'll miss you here!
aww.. you just made me think that if somebody on MU (and say he/she talks in the forum a lot too) died, we wouldn't know ='(
What a sad thought. But can't ghosts use the internet too?

Nooo, that's not what I meant. Like they should say something, like "bye, see ya, sayonara"? >_>; Nevermind, that sounded more stupid.

i think it's the pain before dying that i'm most scared of....after that, my heart and brain would cease to work, so i can't and won't be able to think about anything else...
The threads are getting more emo by the moment.

You can't make a thread about "Are you Afraid of Dying?" and not expect a bunch of emo. Seriously. It's like standing in the rain and complaining about getting wet..
Life is tough......but it's tougher if you're stupid.

When I was 10 I realized that I'm gonna die someday, and found everything meaningless. For about a week I moped around didn't want to do a single thing. After that I started doing things that would put my life in danger just for the adrenaline rush to feel alive. I know I'm gonna die but I want it to be on my terms. Plus I almost died a couple times. So in conclusion I guess I'm more afraid of dying peacefully as a withered old man rather than breaking my neck doing something extreme. And old age scares me much more than death.

Meta, you seriously just made me think Norse.
I go away and suddenly the spammers are the mods. Okay, I can adjust to that, but... Gorath?! And what's up with Mam's not being the top poster?

All valid points. Is there an afterlife? Will anyone remeber me when I'm gone? Is there any real point? If there is no heven or hell why should I care what I do? How many people here wouldn't think about these things? However if the option existed to live forever would you take it?
I certainly would. Then again some would argue that we were ment to have finite lifespans as part of the experience. Or that everything is baseless.
That I'll leave to you to decide

I think that everybody should say if they believe in a religion or not.. Because if you believe in a religion, of course you're not going to be afraid..
I'm not religious, I don't think there is an afterlife or anything. I could be wrong, of course, but I really think the time we have alive is all the time we have, so why waste it being scared ofsomething we can't stop? There's this one line in a song that goes "It's those afraid of dying that never learn to live." I think I kind of agree on that.
Well, I'm not afraid either.. 🤣 Because I'm still only 16.. My life is ahead of me, not my death.. 😛
But I agree with Meta.. That getting old is kind of 'scary'.. Though you can also see it as something positive.. To be a guide for the new generation.. and other stuff.. 😀

Can't say I am.. I mean.. I don't want to die of course, cause nobody does.. but when it happens, just as long as I've lived my life to the fullest, I seriously can't complain... even at just 22, I've lived a great life.. done things not many people have done, been places many people haven't been, seen things not many people haven't seen... And the road ahead is just one big open road for me still.. so I still have a lot of things that I'll still get to see, do, go..

I don't think anyone who haven't had any heavy experience with death would be afraid of death. It's like most people can't imagine how it is to get shot by a gun, or cut by a sword.
Everyone would fight for their life if there were any danger to it.
What happens after death is impossible to say. But to state that nothing happens is being dupe and indifferent.

Yes. I think anyone would be afraid of dying.
To say no, you're not afraid of death, is stupid. If you're not afraid of dying, then please be beaten willingly in a fight and not defend yourself. If you're not afraid of leaving this world in abrupt sort of way, then please walk into the middle of a highway and be killed.
Especially if you die at a young age, when you have not enjoyed life like you should.
Only when you've lived life to the fullest, and on your deathbed with loving people surrounding you will you think that, "Yes, now I'm not afraid to leave."
