Manhwa or Manga?
Manga!! I can't help it, I just love manga. Manhwa art to me is.. just..sooooo.. unappealing to me. 🙄 I like some manhwa , but the art have to be on point.

I prefer manga because of the art. No offence but the art creeps me out which is bad because MOST, not all, manhwas have the same art style. I don't read anything that's not beautiful 🙂 . But today its hard to find good shoujo mangas that are original and doesn't have a female lead that you want to throw your shoe at her and I have read manhwas which are definitely better than some manga. So in the future everyone might be reading manhwas. 🙂

I have to say manga and I'm gonna have to say the art is pretty creepy for shoujo manhwas. Oh and HWANG Mi-Ri is another good reason I usually avoid shoujo manhwas. They seem to have a stranglehold on the market and I'm not a fan of their work.

Manhwa. However, why the exclusion of manhuas....?

In terms of SHOUJO...
I have to say I think I've seen worse shoujo in manhwa. Manga are definitely more generic in general, but they're not at the level as I've seen some manhwa. Hwang Mi Ri, for example. But when shoujo manhwa's good, it's good. I think it's harder to come across good shoujo manga in contrast.
I seem to recall more manhwa in general, bad or good, but I've certainly read more manga than manhwa. So whether good or bad in content, they're definitely more memorable than manga.
...IMHO.

Manga but I'm more interested in manhwas now. The best artists are mangakas though and the best stories are in mangas (Kare Kano, Mars, Glass Mask, almost anything Maki Youko, etc) =D It's just that manhwas also provide a different style to their stories so it's something new after reading mangas for so many years. (Girl Queen, anything by Wann, They Too Love, Yeonmo, etc)
Hwang Mi Ri and Han Yu Rang are just two groups of manhwagas from the same company. The manhwagas just publish under the same pseudonym.

Manga. The leads in manhwa always seem too loud mouthed and self-centered and none too bright. But I'm a little biased since my exposure to manhwa is relatively limited.

My priority in reading are:
- webtoon
- manga
- manhwa
Not to say that manga have better story than manhwa, I just tend to dislike the drawing style/ humor in manhwa.

I like both but I also have to say manga rather than manhwa because I also find the art unappealing sometimes like love in the mask I just could not take it 😢

It really depends. This is quite hard to answer, so I'll just elaborate what I like about each.
Manga
There are so many shoujo mangas to read, so for variety this wins. Most titles are a light read, and definitely good for someone like me looking for a way to kill time. Art in mangas is generally clean and full of flowery background embellishments. I usually like the pacing of the manga panels.
However, on the flip side, I don't like how most shoujo heroines are dull and whiny crybabies who need a MAN to save them every single time. The cliche's are everywhere it's suffocating. It was extremely difficult finding mangas with genuinely strong heroines and original plotlines.
Of course, there are great mangas out there, it's just that they're too few and too far in between.
Manhwa ::
At first, I didn't like the art and it took me a while to realize that I've only been coming across Hwang Mi Ri's works. Yeah, I hate her art and the stories are dull and repetitive. But titles with beautiful art REALLY have beautiful art - like the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen IMO. I like how most of Korean artists draw hair very detailed and give people 'slim' figures. On the other hand, some artists don't draw varying faces too well, and I'll have a hard time recognizing who is who.
Story-wise, manhwa's (except for Hwang Mi Ri) are usually not as cliche. However, I think that the stories aren't told too well. Sometimes, the flow of panels really spin my head in bad ways. I also generally like the heroines better.

Most definitely manga, primarily because it's readily available and it has so much variety, like everyone says. There are also great ones coming from different generations, such as Kare Kano, Boys Over Flowers, or Hana Kimi (which are a bit older) to current ones like Orange, Ao Haru Ride, or Bokura Ga Ita (more recent).
I'm probably really biased since I haven't found any good/great shoujo manwha. I think the only good one I sincerely enjoyed manwha I've read is Shin Angyo Onshi (a historical action). Oh, I've read Goong, and that was okay, but there are so many things wrong with it.. Essentially, I haven't read anything great shoujo-wise, although it might be because I'm running into the same few authors who are awful.
I personally don't consider Webtoons as manwha, cause it's just not the same. However, I've read plenty of good webtoons, such as Afterschool War Activities (anything by Ha Il-Kwon), Trace, and etc.

My answer would vary based on demographic.
I'll count Korean webcomics/webtoons separately just because.
Keep in mind that I'm fluent in Korean, and as such have a broader access to manhwa/webcomics than does the average MU user.
Shoujo ~~ Webcomics > Manhwa = Manga
Josei ~~ Manga >>>>> Manhwa > Webcomics are rendered practically irrelevant

100% agree with that order
