I'm being rather pedantic here.
Indeed you are....and for no bloody reason?
There used to be DDL links on the releases page that linked to megaupload/mediafire/scanlator's host etc.
Yes, technically speaking, the files you download are not hosted on this site, but the links were available here. Back then, there was barely any reason to go to a group's site.
hartato was speaking in context. If he said "I still have the first chapter manga that i download from megaupload", then it would have no relevance to this conversation.
It's no different than saying "I downloaded this manga from <scanlator's site>".

Actually, there is a perfectly good reason for it: It amused me.
Mayhap I should have added a smiley to my initial reply, but really, I'm being pedantic just because. To kill time. To cause pointless dialogue and argument for their own sake.
And more on point. This is from the forum rules:
(Modified 08/27/10) DO NOT ask where to download manga. Asking for download sites is the same as asking for download links. Asking where to read manga online is ALSO the same as asking for downloads. We are an information site and NOT a download site. You need to find it on your own. To extend this rule, we also do not allow you to post links to scanlation downloads.
Note the day of the modification. By what I remember (and please, correct me if I'm wrong), the direct links to download stuff from MU were gone at that point, or perhaps even earlier.

I still have the first chapter manga that i download from here.
It created at 6 November 2011 and my profile said that i joined MU at 7 November 2011...
Note that this was over a year after said update. Since the rules abolish giving such links, it isn't all that much long of a stretch to assume that someone saying they downloaded stuff via MU could be considered unwelcome where MU staff is concerned (and yes, this is just a theoretic and hyperbolic argument)
**Edit: Well, I guess that is what I get for trying to be clever when tired and feverish. Sorry about the partially incoherent ramblings. I did actually have a point, but didn't communicate it properly.
TL DR: Yes, once upon a time there were DL links here. However, they were gone before 2011.**

No no we're not stirring up anything. I'm replying to your argument against 狂気.
Your argument originally was that MU didn't allow DL because it linked somewhere else back when it linked it in releases page which had confused me.
Let's start again: this is when Manick decided to remove all releases linkshttp://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?page=1&tid=33211&hl=download%20releases%20MU%20links
Yes. It was in 2010. Yes MU admitted they didn't host the files themselves. This is because they LINKED them to scanlators' links of the files. So yeah, you can download from MU. Mainly by clicking it on the releases page. Ugh one post you say MU didn't allow the links, the other you say yeah they did allow links but she still didn't download from MU because those links weren't hosted on MU. This confuses me.
Please have an open mind that it's possible that MU used to allow people to easily download new releases through their site. I know their current policy suggests otherwise but MU when it first started out was more underground and it definitely wanted to be as useful as possible for the scanlators and fans.
And lol if you're talking about technicalities. You said "never had download links" well MU did have DL links 🙁
Edit: I don't want any trouble but this honestly started because you doubted another poster's post with simply "MU never allowed DL links." Frankly, we got irked when you doubted someone's post with wrong info.

Yeah, sorry about that. I was tired and feverish last night and my though process was apparently rather... skittish.
Yes, my statement itself contained a factual error which was not what was trying to go for, but I wrote it in that form anyway.

Whooops...
sorry, I meant to say the first time i downloaded a chapter from the scanlators link that available in the scanlators info.
You know.. stuff like "Click here" to go to their site.
Sadly, it had removed... 😢
Now i need to write their name and google it everytime. 🤢
Edit: Thanks to tart, now i get this problem solved. 😀
