oh yeah.... that guy from Yu-Gi-Oh and his sister and hell all of them.....i have no clue how u spell his name though...it's pronounced Mair-ik and his sisters name was Ishtar? i dont no some shit like that....and the guy Oden, all those Egyptians were black, (redundant right?)....also Panther from Eyesheild 21 is probablly one of the few actuall African Americans

Lulz, since when are Egyptian(Arabic) people black? This topic has so strayed away from its original intention. Maybe it should be dark skinned characters? At least, Yoruichi would qualify then whether she'd be black or not.

But the current 'Egyptians' are Arabic though. o_O So it is an (mainly) Arabic country, no? Regardless if whether it's situated in Africa or not.Just as Morrocco, Tunisia or Algeria which are Arabic countries too, but located in North-Africa. Isn't South-Africa mainly a Caucasian area too?

How about naming a character who's black who's the lead in an anime?
I've been looking for that forever and the closest I've EVER got to that for this decade was Static Shock and thats not even anime.

As for black characters in anime:
Jason Ozuma: Hajime no Ippo
Panther: Eyeshield 21
Roger: Plastic Little

As for Yoruichi, I'd say she's from Morocco or something but she's not black.
Just has a naturally tanned complexion.
If people are willing to say that Yoruichi is black then so is Villetta from Code Geass.
And also the Neko-Musume from XXXholic.
If you're wondering how i jumped from Geass to XXXholic, its because the lead voice actors are the same.

To put an end to all the nay-sayers if anyone here actually watched or read Ranma then you should be well aware that the head master who always chases Ranma to chop his hair off was as white as the inside of a coconut, & came back to Japan as dark as the outside of one.

Sorry to disappoint you but I've seen people of east indian descent with the exact same skin tone and hair texture as Yoruichi. I've also seen black girls who look like Yoruichi, HOWEVER; they almost ALWAYS had some middle eastern or east indes mixed in them whereas someone naturally of Asian decent is more likely to be happened upon.

Its not like the people of Bleach can't draw Black people,
example: the 70's spoof character they had Chad fight.

clinging to her being black because i am?...if anything its the opposite, because if you read, then it was said earlier that THEY(the character in bleach) said she was black.....meaning the person who made the manga, meaning not me.... i said she clearly looks black to me plus of what they said.....the joke about her being half black was just to continue you the thread...i honeslty dont really care what you think she is, just like it does it matter what I think she is....because it was already stated in the show what she in fact was, which was "that black woman"...now had she of been Moroccan they would have said Moroccan woman?....or maybe even "brown woman".. who knows? but they did say "black" as in the race of humans with african descent, because it clearly couldn't of meant skin coloring seeing as she is brown... and as for the "black person" chad fought...you're saying if she was black she'd look him?..why?...it's not like all black people look the same or theres just one way to draw black people is there?..do all black people have to have afro's or braids in order to be black?...or do they have to have wide noses and big lips in order for you to recognize you as them being black?....like i said based off of pure facts, no interpretations or assumptions they stated "that black woman"...nothing else, so there is no reason for you doubt what the writer said correct?......

but anyways as i said before, for the sake of this persons thread lets get back on topic.........i honestly think we've named all the semi-important black characters in anime, but i'd also like to add some guy from cowboy bebop.....the guy from the episode where they were trying to capture that dog, the guy with the afro....pretty certain he was black, as well as the guys from episode with the mushrooms they were black too.......but yeah like someone said about Gantz....i think Gantz has had the most black people...not really any more main characters to name i dont think....i think this case has been solved
