Idea from the thread: Ecchi: Yay or Nay?

Curious to see how many shoujo fans like smut. O_O I don't particularly like it, have read a few and they were all bad IMO. Focused too much on the smut and not enough on the plot, but I guess that's the point? @_@;;

I don't like it, or the way it's usually applied, the randomness of when the love-making begins is almost as bad as hentai, just ruins the flow of the story. In the right situations, sex could improve the story, but I've yet to see one where it's been pulled off really nicely.

"Sometimes" I enjoy it, when it's part of the plot but not the main point (Yoshihara Yuki's works are one good example esp. because of the heavy dose of humor; I know I've read others too but can't think of them right now).

Often it's more like "hentai for girls" and then 🤢 .

Can't really vote because while smut is not something I seek out, I don't totally avoid it either.

Sometimes the love making is ridiculous? Yes, I've read some smut but I stop halfway.. it's too embarassing.
Shoujo is meant for innocent and naive girls I supposed? With their cliche romance and bla-bla? xD
I think, it's okay if the smut is show halfway and not too details because this is not targeted to older reader.

I voted yay..... While I dont read manga specifically for the smut, when there is smut I usually dont mind and or enjoy it

Yay, as long as it doesn't have boring/bad story, stupid characters/situations and BAD ART.

However, it looks like most shoujo and josei smut have those. O_O. Not quite sure as I don't read much smut since it's hard to find good mangas with smut (they usually suck and are boring as hell). O_O

Even seinen romance mangas have smut. If I like the story, I don't mind. But we are talking about shoujo and josei, aren't we?

Nay for now from me. If I want to see sex, I might as well read hentai. There's no need to endure a boring tedious plot, stupid fluff (by the way I hate fluff) and bad art, did I mention bad art?, just to see nothing. 😮

It's best when it's throughout the entire manga and it has that sort of aura (i.e. Yoru Made Matenai), instead of popping out of nowhere. Smut in shoujo can get really smutty, I like that, but when it's smut but barely any sexual content/girly girly swoon swoon...phail 😔 i.e. Stroke Material
