| It starts out in an interesting way, and the art is, well, unique. It didn't take me long to warm up to the art style though. But after a while of dragging on and on, it never seems like they actually get anywhere with their relationship. In fact... seeing as there is a sequel, I think it may just be another 8 volumes before they finally decide to stop confusing each other. |

This manga made me tear out my hair.
It starts with Tsukasa moving in with Haruka, a girl who is 16 (I think), and Tsukasa is 11 years old. She thinks it's cute that she has a little brother now. Until he ties her up, gags her, throws her on the bed, starts undressing her and was about to literally rape her, until someone disturbed them. Haruka doesn't do anything about the attempted rape.
I knew then this was going to be a stupid story. Who in the world just brushes off an attempted rape with a stranger? You'd press charges! You'd be emotionally traumatized! But not Haruka, no, it was just her little (new) brother, after all!
Then comes another attempt at rape, and more .. and more. Tsukasa is very aggressive, and we have no idea why - because he just met the girl. We also have no idea why in the world Haruka is allowing this. He soon starts saying stuff like "I really love you!", while trying to rape her. For some reason, they end up being boyfriend and girlfriend after a week of living with each other.
The story comes at a standstill at that point. All Tsukasa does is try to kiss Haruka, but Haruka keeps going "Hnn..." because she doesn't like it (and even clearly states so). Doesn't matter, because Tsukasa kisses her like every day, and keeps groping her. She doesn't like it, of course. This continues throughout the entire manga - nothing changes about their relationship.
The furthest their relationship takes is that Haruka gets jealous if Tsukasa kisses another girl. That's it. They're still at the kissing stage that Haruka really doesn't like at all. Tsukasa makes it clear he wants sex, and Haruka makes it clear she hates kissing him. Tsuaka eventually noticed that she never wants to kiss him, and for a second I thought the story was going to move forward because he asked her if she really hates kissing him that much.
I was wrong, the issue was glossed over and never addressed again and nothing changed. She still hates to kiss him, and he still tries to grope her whenever.
This manga is just the same thing over and over again, but just in different situations. The relationship between Haruka and Tsukasa never changes, he always tries to grope and kiss her (no matter how many times he promises to 'wait'), and she still clearly dislikes any physical touch (especially in public!). You could only read the first 3 chapter and have read the entire story of the manga already, because that's all there is to it. Just the same thing over and over again.
I suggest just reading the first 3 chapters to see for yourself, then step away from this manga. It's not worth your time.

Wow, 7 volumes and counting and still no progress in their relationship... and I'm not talking about s-e-x here ('cause of their ages, of course) but about emotional development. Their relationship goes nowhere (nowhere) after the 1st or 2nd volume.
And the premise seemed interesting at first (and I was excited 'cause of the good reviews and rating), but the story is just way too repetitive... 2 idiots + a stupid misunderstanding → stupid, immature reactions (yeah, I get that he's a 6th grader, but her?), a big "blow-up" → then they make up and he does a little groping. It's the same emotions, insecurities, doubts over and over and over again.
Oh, yes, a new character is introduced every once in a while, but they seem to play the same role each and every time: just another obstacle and source of misunderstanding in this relationship between a stupid, goody-two-shoes, unbelievably naive female protagonist and gullible, idiot 6th grader. The only thing I enjoyed in this series was the idiot 6th grader's irredeemably pervy nature.
Aargh, I can't believe I just downloaded 7 volumes of this crap (all deleted now). <done ranting>

At first thought the artwork was really awkard, it wasn't bad but it wasn't too good either. After observing it I realized the the way the mangaka drew their characters it what made them exceptionally cute, especially when it's in chibi form. Anyhow, this manga is a really good one, Before tehy started scanlating it I has only read the script from another website and even then I still liked it, I got farther in the script then I have in the manga so I'm waiting. It is a lot better with the visual aide. The story is cute actually even though Tsukasa is small he's really cute and protective and if he were taller and older then me I'd like him as a permanent hubby. Haruka is adorably and rarely annoyingly naive but I think it's that trait about her that keeps the story in motion, without the aspect of her there would be climax no interesting situations and, really, no relationship between her and Tsukasa. Tsukasa, I'd say, is about a noticeable inch shorter then Haruka but I wish he was taller, the are step siblings and in love and he's younger. to have him shorter just makes it all the more awkard. But Yoru Made Matenai had been one of my favorites for the lingest time. I highly reccomend it to you, I don't know if they have alreaddy but I hope they make an Asian drama out of this manga, I'd say it's worth it.

this one is a nice manga. I just don't like the idea that he's in elementary... you know... He's still too young to do *those* things to his sister - even if he's in love with her... and gosh, he's too tall for a kid ...... but... idk... maybe i'm too old now or kids grow mentally faster than I expected .... at least 10 years ago when i was in elementary things weren't like that T_T
other than that, it's a cute story

Yoru Made Matenai is a fun, sexually charged read. The premise does seem slightly over the top and probably even unbelievable, but as a work of fiction, it's obviously working on a level of heightened reality, so it's safe not to take everything too seriously.
Really, this manga is more like Merupuri (a work I suspect is heavily influenced by this one), but with a little more zest. Sure, Tsukasa, the seemingly sexually experienced brother, is pretty young, but his outward maturity does a lot to make the age difference seem almost non-existent. It's listed as smut, but there's not so much content that I would put it on the same level as say, Desire Climax or even any of Mayu Shinjo's works (not as far as I've read anyway, the work hasn't been fully scanlated yet).
The art does seem slightly aged, but it's easy to grow accustom to. However, besides the original premise of the story, everything else is pretty predictable. From the Mary Sue heroine to the love triangles, everything plays out like a regular run-of-the-mill shoujo.
Yet, I can't help but be addicted to it. Sometimes, it's nice to get away from the chasteness of other shoujos, and just revel in the delectable sexuality that we know goes on behind closed doors in every relationship.
On a sidenote: I notice that there's a sequel and I sincerely hope that another scanlation group would give some serious thought to scanlating it. |

| maybe a little bit spoiler but the brat's pervert attitude comes from his father whom we met him later in the series. so it is not weird that he knows a lot pervy stuff and he is not that young for that I mean boys in his age may be really like that too. though in real life he needs a spank or two lol. read it just to laugh hard. |

Yeah, this is one of the most interesting manga series I have ever read. And when I mean interesting, I also mean unusual. I mean, this manga series is good and all, but like someone else said - there's very little character development. The girl, Haruka is annoyingly naiive and so innocent that it makes me wanna wring her neck and throw her to the curb.
Sure her cute, younger stepbother is a pervert and I'm sure that'll shock the pants out of anyone (not literally) but come on now! Why on earth would you fall in love with him immediately? I'm sure it'll give Haruka another view of him but not to make her fall in love with him already.
I really enjoy reading this series, but I wished that it had a slower and a little different approach.
P.S. And the drawing style? Fits the manga perfectly. |

haha...Geeze....Those two are both perverts....If you can get past the fact that the boy is a pervert and the girl is a little dumb, then I guess the story is a good read. I thought it was alright

The whole story's weird. The art isn't that good, and the girl isn't pretty either. The kid may look a bit cute, but he's still a kid, and where the heck would he learn stuff like that? o _ o And then his 'sister' would try to stop him from doing this and that, but he always ends up doing it 'cause she's stupid.
Sorry -- I suppose this wasn't really what I had in mind when I picked this manga up. xDD |
