Gakuen Alice - shoujo where it's more about the kids, their abilities, and the school. There is some romance but it doesn't drive the story, at least as far as I've read. It's one of my favorites.

If you like Katsu then try some of the mangaka's other work like H2.

There's a hint of romance along the manga between Kyu and Megu and in the last chapter of the manga you'll see they walk home hand in hand after realizing each other feelings 🙂
