My Take on H-manga/anime vs. Live Action Pornography.

So, I was thinking.
Many people I know ridicule (to some extent) people who enjoy animated or drawn pornography, i.e. h-manga/anime. Their main reasoning is that it's abnormal/whatever because the subjects are not real.
However, my thoughts are these: regardless of whether it's drawn or live action, they are still two dimensional renderings of sexual acts/arousing figures. So if h-manga/anime is fake, then so is live action pornography.
Comments on my thought process?

Porn fans can critisize H fans all they want about how H is not 3D and how you can't touch them, but it goes both ways.
Besides, real or not, at least there's some plot in H(no matter how unrealistic and rediculous it is).
I just say that the reason H fans are able to enjoy H is that they see images in a different way compared to those who totally reject it/don't like it. Their minds work differently. They take simple lines joined together and perceive it as "real" to a certain extent.
I suppose it's up to the power of one's imaginaton :\

I've always agreed with your assessment. Its really all the same, just images on a screen. Hentai will always be better because an anime girl's attractiveness isn't bound by reality (and because there's sharper color contrast, and more variety possible in the material).

This might just be me, but i think some people see it as just another genre, just as seinen fans criticize shounen fans for the simple plot lines. It may have plot lines that are very "out there", but thats what is interesting about them. You are interested in finding out how they reach the actual porn.

Only reason that hentai is really criticized is because the proportions in hentai (mainly those of women) are really just inhuman. Some of the contents are generally unrealistic, but the fact that it is pure fantasy makes it all the better imo.
I, myself read more hentai than I watch porn, the main reason being the difference in quality; drawn pornography are generally much more expressive, pleasing and convey far more emotions than the mass produced formulaic and cheap productions that make up real live porn. And even the worst H-mangas/animes out there have a far better plot than the 'best porn' I've ever seen.
All in all, I really can't see why there's so much criticism out there, both H-manga/anime and live porn are pretty much made for the same reasons: to please the audience. When watching porn one usually fantasizes about it, same way you would when you read or watch hentai.
That's just my two cents on it...

I think the point they were trying to make was that the attraction from watching porn comes from a desire or lust for that woman. Sex isn't just an act, there should be attraction to who you intend to have sex with.
In their minds, hentai is weird because you're attracted to a drawing that simply isn't a real person. Like you're living in a fantasy world where reality has merged with the imaginary. To most people, it just would not make sense to fantasize about sex with a drawing because it is unattainable.
There are major differences with hentai and "real life" porn whether you choose to see it or not. After establishing this, there is no real reason to alienate hentai from your desires, so no, I am not here to speak against hentai. Just speaking my thoughts on why some may think hentai is weird, whether you think it is weird or not.
Edit about post above me: I've seen quite a few pornos which I can genuinely vouch to be much more expressive than the mass produced and horribly animated hentai I've watched. I enjoy both hentai and porn and have seen enough of both to say that on both spectrums, there are monstrosities.

Well, that's half true. Life goes on and changes unless you die. There's always a chance that once in your life you'll sleep with someone you once thought was unattainable. Heck, I went through a whole phase where I was obsessed with Maria Ozawa and tried to come up with ways I could meet her. After a while, I came to my senses and realized she wasn't worth the effort and besides, I'm too lazy to pull off anything I'd thought of. There are too many other girls out there even more beautiful with actual personalities I can work towards impressing, rather than waste all that effort on someone who now does such hardcore stuff.
I've tried some of the cosplay av porn and almost all of it is horribly horrible...if I count general cosplay(maid, nurse) I'd have to say sora aoi was probably one of the best of the ones I watched.
