So, pick your choice! And share your typing related stories if you feel like.

I use the correct hand placement, still have to look at the keyboard for numbers or some keys, but that is all.

I get by...
I like to slide my hands around the key board
And I place them on the keys I'm going to hit before I unleash a burst of rapid spam

I look at the key board for numbers. I type with one hand when im bored, but i have to look at the keyboard for that too. I normally use correct hand placement except if I want to type fast. So yeah... I voted other

I use the correct hand placement.

Years of Mavis Beacon is the reason, I suppose. 🤣

Ummm... I do the first four almost all of the time. Right now, I'm sort of using the correct hand placement but not really (it's more of a hybrid of using one hand and the two fingers of the other hand). Of course, I doubt I am using the correct fingers to hit the right keys, but it gets me what I want to write. Also, I sometimes don't use the keyboard... when it's a hassle... So, I guess I'm a mutt (other).

I can literally not even look at my comp, place my hands and then type without making any mistakes (unless my internet isn't reading everything which does happen on some sites, depending on how fast I'm typing and how bogged down the school network is). Guess that one semester of "keyboard" in middle school really, really paid off.

I was never trained to do the correct way, so I go by "whichever finger can reach that key the fastest". It's a pretty efficient method, but it requires me to be actually looking at the keys.

One of my teachers told me about a friend of his who can type as fast as a skilled "correct method" person, but only with two fingers.

I hated Mavis Beacon, turned me away from correct placement forever

I type incorrectly. But I managed to type at a good-fast speed.

I never use my right thumb! For the space bar, I use my left thumb and my right index finger. I almost never use the shift button on the right side.

Even after being a computer user for less than 10 years, I still have bad typing habits. I can type without looking at the keyboard, but I have to glance down at the keyboard for reassurance and stuff. 🙁

Correct hand placement. I don't even need to look at my keyboard anymore.

This will do that to you. 🤣

I use the "correct placement". Hours and hours of "right little finger up to p" repeating over and over kinda stuck. Computer classes were the bane of his existence during my middle school years.

Erm, my own hand placement is the correct placement? 😀

I always look at my keyboard while typing, I can type just as well while not looking down, but it's become a bad habit- which I hate. This is only a problem when I'm chatting since I always unknowing press 'enter'. Otherwise, it's not that much of a problem since on forums and such I always look before I post something to correct my errors.

the correct hand placement. ive gotten used to all the tests in computer class and now i cant type any other way. but its really fast. at tops i can do 60 wpm 😀

its not that i sometimes get tired and only use one hand. when i do it that way though my fingers slide across the keyboard to the next key then i press it as im sliding over. 🙂 the only reason is that it looks cool to me.

If you ask me where the q button is. I can't tell you. But if I needed to type using the letter q or any other letter. I'll be able to hit it.

I tend to glance down at the keyboard... a lot.

I don't use the home row but I would need to start at the home row to find all of my correct keys.

Now that I think about it, I think I made the exact same thread a long time ago... or was it SROMU?
