that is moronic how can people with handguns and rifles stand against the government which has drones, rpgs advanced weapons and training not to mention nukes
Even with all that high tech weaponry, why isn't the US dominating in Afghanistan or Iraq? Guerrilla warfare is an entirely different animal.
Using nukes? Ha. Who would you govern if you blow everyone away?
us is dominate in iraq they destroyed the old government and have control over the new government there are few groups who keep shooting at them but its nothing major besides these countries have the home field advantage . frankly i cant imagine a bunch of fat rednecks defending themselves from the strongest army in the world

Suicide statistics favor towards firearms because of a matter of convenience
claps you said it yourself, thats exactly why they shouldnt be conveniently available for everyone.
did you know that an adolescent is twice as likely to commit suicide if a gun is kept at home?
i'd like to add this
From 1980 to 1997, gun killings by young people age 18 to 24 increased from about 5,000 to more than 7,500.
During the same period, gun killings by people 25 and older fell by almost half, to about 5,000.

Not against guerrilla warfare. If we had "total control," we wouldn't be having this:

Controlling a government vs controlling the people are two entirely different things.

Guns are not for everyone, which is why a thorough background check and probably a physiological exam should be required to purchase one.
However, that said, you conveniently leave out a key fact:
http://www.policyalmanac.org/crime/archive/firearms_and_crime.shtml
Offenders
According to the 1997 Survey of State Prison Inmates, among those possessing a gun, the source of the gun was from -
1) a flea market or gun show for fewer than 2%
2) a retail store or pawnshop for about 12%
3) family, friends, a street buy, or an illegal source for 80%
So, basically, you only punish the honest folk, while the vast majority of criminals obtain it illegally anyway.
BTW: link your sources. Its good etiquette and it doesn't make your argument look weak.
There is a simple solution to every problem; finding the simple solution is the difficult problem.

you're only giving people a chance to get trigger happy whenever they get the chance or a reason, or at least they think that that reason is reason enough to end a life. and what about all those people who had anger issues? and this firearms things is legal and they are coincidentally holding a firearm and they are also coincidentally angry.. what happens then. BLOODSHED. and no, i wont give an evil laugh, dudes, this is serious. to me at least.

Oh noes people got killed. TRAGEDY.
sorry. I don't agree.
Its going with 'if It saves one life its worth doing' line of reasoning. after which people club the person who said it with a blunt instrument.
You can put a value on human life. I'm not going to give up a god given right just because less people die a year to something than are struck by lightning.
Are you going to ban Marriage? Most marriages end in death. or a least a large % of them do.

yes because there are:
- some happy-trigger cops and
2)criminals/bad people who no matter what will somehow obtain firearms
I'm not saying everyone needs firearms thou, but sometimes they become necessary. Although I do think that it's a bit too easy to get a gun in this country once you become 18... 🤢

I took it as him laughing at your statement that a magic invisible man that no one has ever seen gave you the right to carry around weaponry.

Weaponry made thousands of years after this magical man supposedly lived, no less. 🙄
Anyway, I think guns should be illegal. There are a hundred ways to kill people and a hundred ways to defend yourself without guns. Just look at the United States' gun violence stats compared to other countries. People don't really use it to defend themselves much anymore - it's become a power trip ("I've got a gun, so fear me.").
