I'm not really sure where I fall on this issue but I just wanted to point out to the people who were saying that legalizing guns makes countries safer, the U.S. legalizes guns but it has one of the highest murder rates in the industrialized world. So the countries where guns aren't legalized are actually safer. Sure criminals in these countries will be able to illegally obtain guns, but not only people recognized as criminals misuse guns. The gunman in the Virginia Tech shooting was able to legally obtain a gun because he had no criminal record.

the gun ban is the only reason why emergency is not called yet in the country. if gun is legal, there will be a lot of people with gun on the street and military will have to be called in and a 'shoot on sight' policy used against civilian. riot is still around because the government prefer a gentlemanly policy against the civilian

so you think a gun will help protect you and your family from them? not quite. they start the riot because someone was shot. a gunshot will only agitate them. they will start attacking in masses and you will be killed or stripped of your guns which will give them armament. mobs are totally different to roberry. it is a mistake to treat them the same.

and even if you sucessfully fend/ kill them off, the trend will follow through and emergency and military will be called in, which will broke through civilian house to search for arms and 'kill on sight' anyone who break any curfew.

in conclusion, guns on the street will only cause anarchy. thanks to the ban, the police still function and try their best to uphold peace and law instead of establishing jungle law in the middle of uk

i'm to young to be allowed to purchase a gun but if i was older and keep a gun on me for protection but they made it illegal than i'd say its against the constitution and then bam they would have to give it back

don't make wild accusation, most starving people in Africa are not the one getting or using the guns.
and the ones with the guns tend to control mines or precious metals they can sell.
