Thanks for the recs, but they're not really what I'm looking for. Oniichanyamete's list mostly has novels about guys who've been turned into girls. I'm looking for female protagonists that have always been female.

I'm with you as far as looking for stories like this, but they seem to be kinda a rare find…

Also while Oniichanyamete's list does consist of several male to female transformations, at least it lists some of the few that do have female protagonist.

The tensei theme is popular in webnovels and there are actually some shoujo webnovels too. I have no clue if any of those is being translated, but with a bit of determination, you might be able to start reading them in Japanese. If you know hiragana and katakana (easy to learn) and know a little grammar (at least the basics of what goes where and some basic particles) you might be able to understand a lot if you use tools like Rikaichan or Rikaikun. You might even end up learning a bit of Japanese in the process.

Please check it out! Also at the end of the main story, people think that that is the literal end but it is actually not so if you get to the part when shes like, "an age without the otome game's outline is coming" do not think that is the ending as after that there is still more content with romantic developments.

Also, I am as well heavily into this kind of story so I have more. Ok so I have three more where the girl is reincarnated into an otome game. The first one is called: common sense of a duke's daughter

However common sense of a duke's daughter is pretty political so although there is romance, I wouldn't say its the main focus so, you could end up finding it boring since man there is a lot of political talk.

The second one is: it seems like I got reincarnated into the world of a yandere otome game

The third one is: Otome Game Rokkushuume, Automode ga Kiremashita

As far as reincarnation light novels with female main characters but no otome game, there is:
