Worst remakes- What are the worst remakes you've ever encountered and why?
Remakes extends to adaptations, spin-offs, sequels, retellings, anything based off an original work.
Forms include movies, shows, manga, books, any form of entertainment really ...

If you could have your structure like this -

(Bold title, italic and parenthesis form, reason starting at the next line)
Original work name (form) to Remake (form): Title of remake -
Reason why it's so bad.

Also if you could limit yourself to 5 things a post.

Donnie Darko (movie) to Sequel (movie): S Darko -
As much as they tried to copy the first movie they fail tremendously. The acting was dreadful, the music didn't fit. Oh and the twist with grandma's death's grandson or whatever, and the meteors? Not to mention the ending. WTF was that? How does one girl dying save the world from being hit by meteors? At least Donnie's death made sense, he dies and all the bad things he caused doesn't happen.

Bloody Monday (manga) to Adaptation (live action show): Bloody Monday -
I barely saw the 1st episode, but they made it so corny. Also they didn't have the bleeding eyes in the beginning scene. I actually should talk about the sequel to the manga instead ... but seeing as I didn't finish the 3rd manga. I'll hold my thoughts for a while. Bottom line the live action show, and sequel manga killed how great the original was.

Something Borrowed (book) to Adaptation (Movie): Something Borrowed -
Bad acting. They cut too many of the important scenes from the book so the characters don't have the proper reasoning for actions done in the movie. Mostly for how they left out key details of the ending.

Avatar: The Last Airbender (anime) to Adaptation (Live action movie): The Last Airbender -
Okay I have never seen this, and never will because M. Night Shyamalan couldn't understand how firebenders bend without needing actual fire in front of them. (It was explained in the anime twice). Also for how Uncle Iroh was not fat (I mean at least put the actor in a fat suit it helps show he's fat and jolly.)

-Sidenote: I looked to see if there was a topic like this ... the closest one I found was called best and worst manga to anime adaptations. If you as a mod want me to edit this OP to exclude manga to anime adaptations I will do so, but if it's ok, thank you for allowing it.
