It's just matter of time. that scanlators will move their stuff into batoto or set up their private online mangareader. that will make your life easier...
Yeah, but till then accept the fact. People are lazy. And as long as google shows mangafox.com in its top 10 search results for mangareader sites, they are going to visit it. Often many of the people who read manga online are often uninformed of the efforts involved behind the whole scanlation process (I personally know a few). Unless they are informed of this, NOEZ is going to profit. We have to do something about that too.
Up until now mangafox never removed credit pages, why not use them to clear the situation?
I think there is the need of a Manifesto of Scanlators, what do you think?

Interesting investigation.
I don't use mangafox and I don't like reading manga online, so since I support neither mangafox nor the other website, I've done what I can...
What we - as leechers - can do, is remember to give a bit of thanks to the scanlator sites once in a while. 🙂

How dare they do things that you don't like with your illegal files.

The dudes/gals that have been saying "Nobody is giving a flying fuck about this" and "You're just mad because they're making off money from your illegal scans." and this poster below and etc.....
You know here I was thinking Scanlators did their thing because they liked it and felt like being good Samaritans to help out other fans. But nope I guess all they care about in meager internet notoriety and bitching about sites that make money though processes that neither effect them nor their fans in anyway at all. Oh that's right you're only bitching about the money they're making because you're not making that money, Even though it's illegal....
So how do you combat this? You impose draconian rules, sink to childish threats, use annoying water marks, or force users to jump through hoops to get your releases. Which is all well and good, until you realize. All this does is piss off your loyal fans and have no affect on the people who break your rules and dodge your hoops (who are in the minority by the way and just will do it more out of spite.)
But I'll let you in on a little secret and it's sure fire way to avoid all this drama and is goes a little some thing like this " WHO GIVES A FLYING FUCK!?" your doing this because your doing it for the fans right? so why the hell should you give a crap how fans enjoy your material, if's it's not hurting you or your fans in any way WHO CARES.
It's like giving a bum a dollar then getting pissed at how he spends the dollar. If you're getting all pissy at how fans are enjoying your work you're doing this for all the wrong reasons.
**IT'S NOT LIKE GIVING A BUM YOUR MONEY. ** 🙄 You give him your hard work, time, and sweat, which are all more expensive than a dollar!!! You don't want the money, but you don't want him to profit from something you have given to him on the mark with a promise not to be profit from it. THAT'S UNFAIR. (and then someone is going to say "Life isn't fair!!! Wake up boy!!") of which I'll reply "Not if we can do an elephant ass about this by making people feel deceived and pissed off and making this into big soap drama" >:-(
Btw, I was browsing the forum on mangafox and it seems someone catch wind of this. I came here, register, post a reply, and stay to chat for a bit longer.
I love drama. 😛

If you're here then it means that you read scanlated mangas. At least show some appreciation to those who spent their time to allow that to happen. It's the least the leechers like us can do anyway. And plus, without scalations, most of these mangas wouldn't be popular enough for anyone in the western world to buy them.
I'm not saying that I like mangafox, but it IS more convenient. Now why don't we all boycott mangahere which doesn't follow the scalators requests? A lot of manga readers come to BU anyway. If BU seriously go against mangahere, i'm sure they'll suffer quite a bit.
So the problem would be something like, How to force mangafox to always follow the scanlators request?

I agree and have a solution: what about organizing a week in which no scanlator releases his/her own series?
Leechers would start to go crazy here and there trying to understand what it is happening and would be a great force against mangafox...
What do you think?

I agree, I'm sure it'll cause an uproar of dissatisfaction, but, it would definitely be a way to inform most readers about this situation. And I really think that most readers appreciate the scanlators much more than websites like mangafox. If readers body demand the website to follow scanlators requests, then there wouldn't be any reasons for the company to go against its customers would there?

Wow, what a fricking two-faced bast*rd this company is.
So... what else is new?

Nothing, really. All scanlators already knew, processed and went over this months ago. Old news.
a) Not quite true 😉
b) Maybe now some scanlators will do something instead of passively taking it up the anus.

we requested the manga to be removed from mangafox
everyone wrote several posts about it
it went international
it's all over forums and imageboards since winter
groups reacting badly, groups realizing that we can just get better than them
this slowpoke.jpg thread
Currently we are planning to network our manga readers to make mangafox useless. Some groups are offering themselves to host old manga from dead groups and keep load balancers. Scanlation is full of programmers, and we're packed with servers. This is way beyond what we could imagine one year ago, but it can be done, quite easily too, because most large groups host their own reader.
We aren't taking it up in the anus, we're going to fire back and destroy their economy, rather than cry about it.
I have to say something.. WHO CARES about it, people has been ripping off of other people since human society began to form. Almost every big company is getting money that isn't entirely honest. So what if the some guy wants an monopoly on online manga, that's how they make their living.

That's a really great idea, if groups join together and create manga readers website to compete against mangafox then it'll damage their economy.

I don't think leechers have any right to say "who cares". It is not their place to do so.
