hey danc. how about this link? http://www.extremetoysforboys.com/index.php3/item/item/Whee lman's
there a powerboard or something that goes around 20 km/h with 12V batteries. do you think we can use the same engine(or similar) like the powerboards?

dead link to me, it doesn't show anything
are you talking about this? http://extremetoysforboys.com/index.php3/item/item/Wheelman%27s%20-%20Bushpig.html
btw doubling the voltge means that you can't use just any kind of engine
double voltage means double autonomy tho, but not double speed

dancwart: To be honest, I don't think any electric motor currently exists that will fulfill all the criteria. If it did, the skateboard companies would put those motors into skateboards instead of the relatively large ones they have now. After all, there are 20+ pages and no link to such a motor that really fits AT criteria.

yep. that's the link. man. i'm pretty useless around here. all i do is test wether we can stand or not while moving at 60km/h.

lol danc i can actually picture you repeatedly hitting your head against some wall going "Angst....angst...angst...angst"
roflmfao
....
tell me that's not the case.
No, Neo, I am not your mother. Guess again.

Dude, one thing. Just remember to test run it for an hour for at least 5 times.
I dont wanna step into it and it makes me create a hurricane involuntarily. Progress is slow, but im sure we can do it! This is possible, but the problem is you guys need is also to find a air bag, Then you can test run if it can ride up walls. Just remember to find a way to clean the track marks. XD

nono i'm an atipic emo
i know more than a lot of reasons to go and crush my head trough a wall but i'm actually too lazy to do that. or too stupid. or not stupid enough, who knows.
when i go angst angst angst i go running, keep you in shape and the sun does miracles ; )
anyway i'm afraid that jay is right, but i still have a lil bit of hope about one of the engine that was linked here. i just need to get my head togheter and see the specs. school started again and i'm soo tired.

well while u do have a piont that is not the main problem we will have on in the current era the problem from wat i see is that we dont have enough wheel parts or body parts but mainly i am thinking of a way to make the A-T while keeping the engin cooled and the enitire body from getting motor to funcition right under the pressure and speed and i found a way for the A-T to get up to at least 90mph

The fastest RC cars don't even go 250+mph, and they have the most powerful small engines. I don't see how you can get a person on AT to go 90 mph when a person easily weighs 8-12x more than an RC car.

Er. I dunno if this is important, but uhhh. Even if you guys could get motors to get you moving that fast.... Wouldn't the incredible amount of force directed at your feet apply torque to your body (assuming your body was rigid) and 'cause you to flip over? Maybe you can lower your center of mass by making the skates real heavy, but I don't think that'd be comfortable. Or I think if you could accelerate realllll slow so that the force isn't too strong (remember F=ma) and you wouldn't flip over.

Or remember to not be rigid. You can lean forward and crouch low to the ground.
Life is tough......but it's tougher if you're stupid.

Hm. You're right. But I still think that acceleration has to be pretty low for you not to flip over. So it's definitely not gonna be like in the anime. So as long as your acceleration is pretty low and you're crouching, you'll be fine. And I suppose once you get to your desired speed, you'd be able to stand up, so long as you only accelerate enough to overcome friction and stay at constant speed. Well actually, but then you'd have to worry about air resistance.
I did a rough calculation for air resistance, and it turns out to be around 350 newtons (for a 130 lb person going at 60mph). To give you an idea of how much 350 newtons is, 350 newtons is roughly the force of gravity on a 800 pound block.
Actually now that I think about it, air resistance, along with the force from the skates will give you a tremendous amount of torque.
